Well, that's certainly disappointing.
October 14th, 2019 at 2:49 PM ^
I don't know why. Schoonmaker and All are already playing. They are the future.
Schoonmaker just got a TD.
October 14th, 2019 at 3:08 PM ^
Yeah this was a conversation topic on the podcast this morning. If he's not at least in line with Schoonmaker at this point then it says a lot more about him than anything the coaching staff is doing wrong. He may have been overrated/over-hyped coming out of high school.
October 14th, 2019 at 5:36 PM ^
The worse the coaching staff the more “over rated coming out of high school” tends to happen. I’m convinced more and more every day these players are not getting what they need to succeed. Offensively at least.
October 14th, 2019 at 8:35 PM ^
That’s a bad take at TE, where Michigan’s players have excelled. Gentry, McKeon, Butt, and the early returns on All and Schoonmaker are strong.
Make this argument at QB and WR and I’m on board. But the WRs often look great—we just aren’t throwing to them.
QB is a total mystery.
To me, it’s not development, it’s a usage issue. Even last year’s disjointed passing attack just needed a few more reps every game to start getting our talented group the chance to make an impact.
Here’s hoping Gattis gets it fixed.
October 14th, 2019 at 9:55 PM ^
Even Juice turned into a threat in 2015 after being pretty much nothing before that.
October 14th, 2019 at 4:26 PM ^
That's what's disappointing. That the top 100ish guy was beat out and failed to become the future. Would have been nice for the higher upside athlete to also hit.
October 14th, 2019 at 4:44 PM ^
It happens kinda often.
I'm happy that a 3 Star Schoonmaker is making it, and doing well. Erik All is doing great too.
October 14th, 2019 at 4:13 PM ^
Disappointing but not unexpected. He is way down the depth chart
October 14th, 2019 at 2:19 PM ^
Thats a bummer man
October 14th, 2019 at 2:20 PM ^
As he should
LOL i get neg'd for saying this. He should move on All and Luke S are ahead of him. No reason to stay.
October 14th, 2019 at 2:49 PM ^
There would be no reason to downvote you. You are right.
October 14th, 2019 at 4:13 PM ^
Just cause something is correct doesn't mean it needs to be said. The kids already on his way out the door, we don't have to spit on him on his way out
October 14th, 2019 at 4:19 PM ^
I don't read it that way at all. Who is spitting on whom?
He said he's down the depth chart. He should move on. What's not said but is presumed is that he (Mustapha) is moving on because he wants to play football.
If all he's looking for is a world-class education then, by all means, my dude, stay! We're happy for you to earn that diploma. If you've got other goals though and you aren't achieving them here, then do what you must.
No hard feelings.
October 14th, 2019 at 4:23 PM ^
This is the world today. He will get a chance to play somewhere else. He’ll get an education. Michigan gets another scholarship to recruit to. It’s good for everyone.

Shit, I missed the underscore. @MustaphaM_
October 14th, 2019 at 3:13 PM ^
Wait, did you "not" get the underscore or did you "not not" get the underscore???
October 14th, 2019 at 2:25 PM ^
There's an underscore at the end that isn't listed in the OP link.
October 14th, 2019 at 2:21 PM ^
Unfortunate to see, but he was a non factor anyway. We need more speed on offense anyway, more WR and less TE.
October 14th, 2019 at 2:24 PM ^
TEs are still important to this offense.
October 14th, 2019 at 2:27 PM ^
First of all, we don't know what this offense is. (Does anyone?) I think Gattis is using TEs because we have about a billionty on the roster.
October 14th, 2019 at 2:35 PM ^
No, the Offense has been a mystery. What do we really run?
Expecting more attrition. It will be a net positive.
October 14th, 2019 at 2:39 PM ^
So you're saying this will be a good thing?
October 14th, 2019 at 2:42 PM ^
Good for both.
October 14th, 2019 at 2:59 PM ^
losing highly skilled athletes is rarely a good thing unless they are a problem in the locker room. No indication that MM was a problem, so no, this is not good.
October 14th, 2019 at 3:03 PM ^
It's a good thing if you can find a similarly skilled athlete at a position of greater need.
October 14th, 2019 at 3:08 PM ^
no it isn't. There are 85 scholarships, plenty of room at the Inn. When you commit the time, resources and energy of recruiting then training a player, the worst thing that can happen is to get an absolute zero return for the dim hope that the next guy will be better. It's an absolute revolving door. Hell, we haven't had a TE who can block since Asiasi left.
October 14th, 2019 at 3:14 PM ^
How do you know? Highly skilled when? Wheatley Jr. came here rated highly skilled and we lost him. Same outcome for both, except when it opened up another scholarship he went on to never display his skills on any team.
October 14th, 2019 at 3:26 PM ^
This is like the poster who wants Shea removed citing a weak arm (relative and debatable) and him being a poor leader. How would we know even the slightest bit of information that would indicate MM is or is not a good teammate? He doesn't play or get talked about unless asked about.
October 14th, 2019 at 2:42 PM ^
Who else is going?
October 14th, 2019 at 2:46 PM ^
Is your claim that you know who is leaving and thus know that them moving on will help the offense? Or are you claiming that anyone who leaves was obviously holding back the offense, so them leaving will be a positive?
Or just blowing smoke because you're mad?
October 14th, 2019 at 2:50 PM ^
It's eyebrow-raising how one can remain an insider, and not be afraid to publicly air such consistently acidic views of the coaching staff and players within the program...
October 14th, 2019 at 3:16 PM ^
Turns out it doesn’t take much inside access to be a member of the Facebook groups that the players’ families have.
October 15th, 2019 at 1:41 AM ^
Glad to see people are starting to come around on this dude!
October 14th, 2019 at 3:06 PM ^
Not going to be a good thing when DPJ, Collins, Black all bail for greener, speedier-in-spacier pastures.
Damn blockheaded offensive staff. Gonna have FBs and TEs left as our skill players. Um, /s, somewhat.
October 14th, 2019 at 3:45 PM ^
Like the NFL?
October 15th, 2019 at 1:36 PM ^
Those guys are not bailing - they are starters putting up NFL tape. Do they leave early? Maybe but they are not transferring.
October 14th, 2019 at 3:21 PM ^
Thanks for the inside info ?
October 14th, 2019 at 3:36 PM ^
Your pussy ass couldn't handle the news.
October 14th, 2019 at 4:20 PM ^
"pussy ass"?
Someone flunked biology.
October 14th, 2019 at 4:45 PM ^

October 14th, 2019 at 9:51 PM ^
Lmao!! You are a flaming troll too.
October 14th, 2019 at 8:41 PM ^
Umbig, you obviously have an anger, alcohol, other issues.
October 15th, 2019 at 2:38 PM ^
I spent a good minute deciding to down vote or up vote "pussy ass." I hedged and made this comment.
October 14th, 2019 at 4:03 PM ^
I have heard we may lose about 7 dudes at least. I've heard 3 DBs, 1 RB/LB, 2 DL, and 1 OL FWIW.
October 14th, 2019 at 4:50 PM ^
It's probably true.
