MSU loses one more
Cassius Peat told by coaches 4 days before he was to show up on campus that they won't take him.
DL Cassius Peat tells Freep MSU coaches told him Wed. that he can't come play for Spartans, 4 days before arrival. Says he is "blindsided."

or an added surprise?
the tire fire is in full flame right now...
3-9 reasons as to why.
Guess I'm one of the few who thinks these 3-9 jokes aren't funny anymore.
We shouldn't be making 3-9 jokes until we beat MSU and OSU.
Just making sure the horse is completely dead.
who used it, of all the memes that people kept using over and over, that 3-9 one had by far the longest shelf life. for instance, the 'oakland in play' one was good for maybe 5 minutes and was then the deadest of dead horses.
i will say that the whole red lobster biscuit one should be revisited in happy times.
Diggs?
There are 3-9 others who don't find them funny either
....are you sure it is not 23 - 32 who don't ???
Diggs?
they lost 1 more...and were now 3-10
c'mon man there are only like 3-9 other good jokes! Not much to work with here
The 3-9 jokes would be funny if people actually used them sparingly and in appropriate situations. Since it's hard to go through any significant mgoblog thread lately without a 3-9 joke, they are in neg territory for me if it's some lazy use of it
Guardedly agree. The problem is that most of the ones I see now just aren't clever or funny.
A good, well-placed one is still hilarious, but it seems like they've actually become more common now as they've gotten played out.
The problem I suppose is that this 3-9 stuff is used so much, and oftentimes in ways that is just flat out lazy or unfunny, that it seems to be less about being funny and more about finding any way to attach 3-9 into some crappy joke.
Kind of one of those "you say it so much it's lost all meaning" kind of deals.
"They didn't even give me a reason." Certainly can't be lack of spots available, and given the need for able bodies over there, doesn't seem like it'd be performance related. So maybe they decided his grades weren't good enough but you'd think that would be something you would just tell the young man. Possibly something turned up in his background check that they didn't want to publicize to save him the embarrassment?
Dunno. Seems bizarre.
I like the odds of your latter possibility.

Grades lol
He got processed. Classic oversigning.
does not oversign. That's unethical Michigan bs. Michael Dantorelli is too ethical and too much "about the kids" for that. Family values bro.
Signed Mike Valenti
I am guessing Peat's "family matter" was yet another coverup in which they didn't get caught. Now that he is gone, nobody in the media have any reason to "dig" and expose them.
I heard Peat's life is a total moss
NICE
The (rejected) semifinalists:
- 'since his two older brothers also played D1, looks like Todd Sr. was going for a 3-Peat'
- Peat and another recruit were in a boat. Who fell out? Well, Mork pushed them both overboard (red-logged).
Rejected Headlines
- D'Antino to Recruit: Peat-er Out
- Cassius: Et Tu, Brute?
Ah yes, it was, in the Gospel According to Mork, chapter three, verse nine.
I think this is a well placed and well done 3 & 9 joke. I approve
At least we know it's not an oversigning problem.
Avert-signing problem?
Harbaugh would be skewered alive by the media if he pulled something like this, let's see what happens to Dantonio (my guess is nothing)
