Blackwell's lawyers allege:

►Dantonio orchestrated employment for the parents of two MSU football players, with mega-donor Bob Skandalaris, whose name is on the football facility.

►Dantonio had Blackwell accompany him on a Metro Detroit home visit of an unnamed five-star recruit, when Blackwell, in his role as director of college advancement and performance, wasn't authorized to conduct off-campus visits.

Dantonio said in his Jan. 10 deposition that Blackwell never did any home visits because it would've been an NCAA violation. He did recall Blackwell once traveling with him to see a recruit, but that Blackwell remained in the car.

In his filing, Paterson said Blackwell "is prepared to provide the court with an affidavit attesting" to the visit of the five-star recruit, which can be "verified by the former five-star recruit and his parents, who were also present during the recruiting visit."

Blackwell traveling to see a recruit is nothing to me - probably a Level 4, maybe Level 3, violation. If it was a one off thing, then it's probably a Level 4 they should have reported.

Now if Blackwell's team could produce evidence of Skandalaris getting recruit's parents jobs, that's a bombshell.

Let's be real, these allegations are next to nothing. Lots of recruits parents get employment. Blackwell traveled an hour and went into a recruits house...big deal. I hate MSU and Dantonio as much as anyone else, but these are pretty frivolous claims

Blackwell was hired in 2013 and that is when MSU's recruiting greatly improved from 46th (rivals) to 22nd.  they were landing  all of the top Detroit kids including Malik McDowell and Donny Corley.  Not effectively recruiting Detroit was certainly part of Hoke's downfall.

There was much more to Blackwell's connections than we now know.  Blackwell is not going to tell about the actions that implicate him as a bagman.  He wants to work again.

Exactly sort of makes it tough to throw rocks.  Many jobs are obtained through relationships guessing the rules are sort of murky here about obtaining employment to recruit parents.

I will say it doesn't look pristine to offer jobs to recruit parents even if it's us doing it.

Hindsight being 20-20 I wouldn't trade the results for the alleged violations.  Not for a second.

I'm guessing the five-star player in question was Malik McDowell. I don't think there were any other five-stars in metro Detroit during that time, other than our own DPJ, and I think he was too late to fit the timeline.

Just the tip of the iceberg. Mork leaves in a cloud of doubt. I have no pity for the future of Mork and even the Spartan football program in the years to come.
