More bad news coming?

Insider boards (Balas mainly) are buzzing that there’s more damning evidence to drop

I don’t know if Balas is posting it or not.  Mixed reports.  Some are saying it is just some random poster on a message board.

I will say that an immediate firing of Stalions, to me, is not particularly comforting.

There's screenshots on twitter - looks to be Balas posting. Cryptic things about more evidence and a contract not happening

In the past Balas has been criticized for not being terribly reliable. Hard to say if he's got something real or not as this in direct contradiction to that other tweet. We'll have to wait for someone like Sam, JUB, etc. to chime in. They're quiet right now

The scenario Balas described just doesn't sound credible.  The way you make mortal enemies is to sandbag them with evidence in the face-to-face.  Big Ten staffers have career aspirations that would be jeopardized by having a powerful university president determined to ruin any boons or benefits they seek.

I don't like to weigh in on insider beef (they both have their merits), but the folks over at TMI have seemingly been more accurate than Balas for this issue. Doesn't mean this can't be right though

Nothing should surprise us at this point but the NCAA already visited and today the President of the B1G conference “asked” per reports, not demanded, of the University President that the coach be suspended.  To think that if something major is just coming out now and the Conference President wouldn’t know about it before today is highly unlikely.  Therefore, if it’s “overwhelming evidence” I’ll assume he would’ve suspended Harbaugh himself as opposed to just requesting someone else do it

The fact that Ono wouldn't suspend Coach when requested by the B1G doesn't mean he won't look at any new evidence and decide on that or something else on his own.  Frankly, I trust Ono with all of this.  If he sees clear evidence of wrongdoing by the coaching staff, heads will roll.  If he doesn't, he'll stand strong.  From my perspective, this is what the analysis should be.

Yes it’s all hearsay, but if it really is proven that JH knew then I’d say the writing is on the wall at that point. Would be a tough thing for anyone to come back from.

Oddly enough Ono declined to self impose a suspension for him so the timeline on this “new overwhelming evidence” is a little messy.

I didn’t take it that way. He said “more info uncovered. Buckle Up” . To me “Buckle Up” is always synonymous with good things on this blog 😉〽️

plus Ono would not suspend Harbaugh so that’s good…

Not to confuse anymore, but I remember Hole saying that there is another bad news that will drop any day now. But he was still confident that when the truth fully comes out, UM will be OK. There is that.

Rumor, so take it for what it's worth: CS was video taped at Purdue.  Doesn't really change the situation since it was already out that he was at CMU vs MSU.  It's still just a question of if he did it alone or if he was directed or reimbursed by anyone else.  I have no knowledge of the second part.

The only logical Purdue game for CS to have been at was last years Thursday night opener vs PSU (Michigan obviously off on that Thursday).  Every other Purdue home game Michigan played the same day.

Supposedly that’s among the Purdue games he bought tix to.

If he was there on the PSU sideline, I’m leaning fully INTO it.  May as well make this is comical and bizarre as possible.  Nothing would surprise me at this point.

Actually I’m kind of jealous.  He’s living my dream - he could have been at PSU/Purdue that Thursday night, WMU/MSU 24 hours later and then in Ann Arbor at High Noon for Colorado State 12 hours after that.

At this point, I’d say it’s 10% odds he was in Ireland for the Nebraska vs Northwestern game in week 0 last year too.

Per Balas:

"The Michigan administration met with the Big Ten Friday prepared to fight for head coach Jim Harbaugh and his staff, having taken him at his word that he had no knowledge of analyst Connor Stalions' actions involving illegal on-site scouting leading to sign stealing. They were even moving forward on a contract extension for the coach that would have made him the highest paid in the conference.

Sources tell us the Big Ten presented Michigan with "overwhelming evidence" of "a plot so extensive" that, in the words of one at the meeting, "someone should have known." The U-M administration met for some time to discuss the options going forward. As of now, Harbaugh is expected to coach against Purdue tomorrow. But more evidence has continued to mount that would, at the very least, put the extension in doubt.
