Freeze called in?  Wish I would have heard that - please relay some details...  All I heard this morning was talk about Kobe and Golden State, which, I guess, is fine and all, but I'm just not that into the NBA.

 /It's me, not the NBA...

"I really (liked the camps) because he came all the way down from Michigan to Prattville (Ala.) and just helped out a lot of kids get exposed and everything and offered a few kids," three-star safety J'Marick Woods -- an Alabama native, and now a Michigan commit -- told MLive this week. "He really helped out the state of Alabama because a lot of people went down there to get exposed."

It is the fact that recruits are saying this and Hrabaugh is out there advocating for this to happen that makes it a public relations win for him on all levels. That recruits are out there saying there not only demand for satellite camps, but that they really like the opportunity to visit with out-region programs and size up their choices nationally....that tells you much of what you need to know about how little the NCAA and the conferences that supported this ban were thinking of the children when it was voted on and enacted.

I wonder if that is how it begins to work in droves for Michigan and perhaps others, if they see that while the NCAA and some conferences may not care, Michigan (and by extension, the Big Ten for the most part) seems to care. It would be interesting to see if that level of disillusionment was a deciding factor in where at least a few kids went to play.

I am becoming more and more convinced that this will be overturned in its entirety, and the 'competition council' (or whatever it is that created/approved the action) will be told to rework it with some thought put into it for next year.  If this groundswell continues for another week, or so, I believe this will happen.  And seeing how it hasn't let up, I don't see it stopping so quickly.

the NCAA striking down the camps is like Vader striking down Obi Wan. "If you strike [it] down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine."

It's all I can find of his call in to Mike & Mike this morning.  I didn't hear it, but looked at their website and found this tweet pic.  I wish they had more up, but this is all...

Well, here's the link, anyway.  Freeze said "You're view is skewed by your region, location, and conference"

Also, in response to being lazy, he defended himself by saying that he would choose family over work anytime.  Well, good for you, coach!  So would I, but I choose to schedule vacation time away from known dates where I have job responsibilities that cannot be avoided.

I'm pretty sure that's enough money to take the wife and kids on the road with him to the Satellite camps.  Plus, most Americans probably get two, maybe three weeks of vacation.  I don't think most people are going to feel sorry for him if can't spend four weeks consecutively at the crib with the family.

Really? It's based on region and conference? You don't say. MY view, or in SEC terms "I am" view that the SEC created a rule to prevent their coaches from providing camps in a certain radius... Then they flip out that a HIGH caliber coach is coming and doing camps in their area... These camps have been going on for years, if not decades... Harbaugh comes in and people flip out. Even Saban realizes that he isn't this 'top dawg' anymore. Urban feels it too... Level the playing field, let's see who wins.

I think the family v. work thing is otherwise a great motive, but in context doesn't make sense. I agree with him to a point. Family beats out work 100% of the time if it can be helped. If I need to quit my job to take care of my family then that's what needs to happen, regardless of how much money is on the line. The money doesn't matter. You shouldn't put your family out just for money. No amount is worth the cost. On the other hand, Freeze using that reasoning here just doesn't fit. Ok, summer is when his vacation is. He doesn't want to take away time from the family. So...move your vacation around. If something comes up that gets in the way of what's normally vacation time, then move vacation time. Or at the very least work the camps around vacation. No one is telling you exactly when to hold your camps. Practically, if you have vacation the first 3 weeks of june, the do Auburn's summer swarm in july! Not that difficult. Further, him trying to promote a rule for all of FBS because he values family time is ludacris. If he's worried about the logistics of it, that's not a solid reason to basically say "I'm too lazy to try to work this out with my schedule, so no one should have the opportunity to work it out with their schedules!" Just insane. Family over work sounds like a good reason in theory, but under closer inspection falls flat.
