Michigan will play in practice uniforms

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

If we win this game, this game will go down in lore.

If we win this game, we will win the B1G Tournament. Has all the fixings for a storybook run like the 2008 Georgia team who won 3 games in 2 days after a tornado at the Georgia Dome moved the SEC Tournament to Georgia Tech's arena.

Fans have been asking. Yes, our game uniforms did not make the trip. Today we wear:
Tops -
Shorts -
Shoes -

Let's go to work! #GoBlue pic.twitter.com/qGR06Oe9BD

I think Warde is a gutless coward who's more worried about how he's perceived by Jim Delaney than he is by Michigan alumni.  And I will continue to think he's a gutless coward worried more about how he's percieved by Jim Delaney than Michigan alumni if we win or if we lose.

If that's the case I'm clearly wrong about Warde.  Help educate me then because clearly i've been blind to his leadership qualities that the vast, vast majority of everyone else sees.

Can you provide for me a short list of Warde's accomplishment's over the past year in your opinion?   Clearly he must be doing things I hadnt noticed to make you (and everyone else) so strongly supportive of him.

1. Decided to not have a football home night game in 2016

2. Decided to not replace our aging hockey HC who wanted to retire

3. Decided to publically support the B1G and their stand on the officiating in the OSU game instead of Harbaugh

4. Stayed quiet and did not lobby on the football team's behalf when the bowl committee was deciding to send either Michigan or PSU to the Rose Bowl

5.. Decided to say nothing about the 12:20 tip despite everything our team has gone through over the past 24 hours

Your turn.  Now the accomplishments:

No football night game is your biggest gripe?

I guess fuck Don Canham then.

#2 I'm not dinging him for because a hasty coaching search is absolutely stupid and asking Red to stick around for one more year - before it was known that there would be this mass exodus of underclassmen - is entirely reasonable.

The rest is just PR and him not getting up and yelling WE GOT SCREWED at every opportunity.  At least not in the media.

We had the lights at the stadium when DC was our AD? We had a series of very successful night games right before DC became AD and then he decided not to continue them? The trend around college football was to play night games when DC was AD?

If yes to those questions, then yeah. But alas, the answer to those is NO, so I still get to like Don Canham.....for now, anyway.

As a fanbase, do we really believe that we should have been in the rose bowl over a team that won the big ten championship game?

I'm not asking if you think we were better than PSU, I think the game result speaks for itself, but I personally think PSU going to the rose bowl shouldn't be controversial....

Please fee free to use the UP/Down votes on this as an informal poll.

Up - PSU goign to rose bowl is not controversial

Down - Michigan should have been in the rose bowl

So what? Before the season there wasn't a single game that stood out as one that would be special as a night game. We don't have to do them every year just because we have lights and have had some good games UTL. We went for a hell of a long time without lights and Michigan was still fun to watch and support (although I admit I blacked out for a couple of years after 2007). As a season ticket holder I could care less if we always have a night game. Watching football on a beautiful Saturday afternoon is special too.

that the team WILL NOT PLAY AT NOON.  Delaney either reschedules or Delaney will force UM to forfeit. You then make Delaney either the hero or the villain.    Instead, Manuel reinforces that idea/fact that UM is just a bitch and will take it up the ass and never do anything about it.

Ah yes, because putting a commissioner (and at least three other 3 teams involved) into an untenable situation that will undoubtedly reflect just as poorly on you and could very well hurt you in the future in some other way (i.e. seeking to switch OSU and MSU home games, vote for some conference referrendum, etc.) is the best way to show you aren't someone's "bitch".

The more I read this place, the more I learn just how terrible some people would be as managers.

The game wasn't getting rescheduled because Illinois would not agree to it.  All that would've happened was Illinois would take our forfeit and the extra day of rest to be ready for Purdue.

And you're telling these kids to complain and if they don't get their way go home.  How about this: Next time you're scheduled to leave on a day where high winds are expected, leave earlier in the day in case you run into any problems.  Sparty did and they were at the museum the same time we were trying to get off the ground.

It's their Spring Break, so moving a flight up a few hours wouldn't cause a kid to unexpectedly miss a morning class (or even exam). The big deal is that they tried to take off at all, which obviously wasn't safe. I don't know who made that decision. Luckily no one was hurt. Beyond that, I'm really not sure what "process" should be evaluated.

I can only speak for myself, but I much rather show up right before a game and play. I go crazy when I'm at a game early waiting forever to play. In high school I would show up to games 15 minutes before tip (of course this practice was the reason my coach didn't start me for one particular game).

The anonymous internet poster calling someone a gutless coward.  Nice.

You have no idea what Warde did or didn't say to B10 officials and Delaney.  Publicly whining or lambasting is unprofessional and burns bridges.  You can't just say "Well this is Michigan and they have to deal with it."  No.  Because if Warde needs support on something and 13 other ADs are like "fuck you, you - in fact - don't get to do what you want whenever you want," then that hurts Michigan.

You know the other conferences and the NCAA voted those down, right?  The B1G supported them.  And oh yeah, Warde and the AD is paying for players to go to fucking Rome for a training camp.

But whatever, keep calling people cowards.  That'll show how smart and tough you are.
