Go Blue!
Unfortunately my Chippewas got crushed 10-0 earlier today.
Tough Bracket ,maybe the Chips can beat a good UCONN team tomorrow (fingers crossed)
I love that the parking lot company is totally plagiarizing the old school White Sox logo. I guess that little TM on the logo is decoration.
PlainsmanParkingLot is the reddit user who makes these infographics (credit to them on these). Not a parking lot company. But, yeah, blatantly using that old Chi Sox logo.
Both starters dealing so far so it could be a pretty quick game if they keep dominating.
This is the 4th time I've seen Hajjer this year and thus far it's the best stuff & location that I've seen from him
WTF was the left fielder doing????
He was positioned ON The warning track before the pitch; if he's in any sort of a normal fielding position he catches that pretty easily
I agree.
I'm sitting in the first row down the left field line and our left fielder has been playing too deep against most of the UConn lineup.
Bakitch plays the OF deep most of the time as I recall. Trying to minimize XBH. He wouldn’t do it unless the data supported it.
Maybe so, but situationally, you gotta prevent the base hit with a runner in scoring position.
The old rule of thumb is, late in the game, within 1, play no singles D with runner at 2nd, no doubles D with runner at 1st.
now it wasn’t late in the game. And he plays no doubles D by default for a reason. I’m not shocked he didn’t deviate from his D strategy early in the game
I'll give you that much, but like someone else stated, almost back to the warning track?
I do want to note this: in the bottom of the 5th, I noticed our outfield playing several steps closer.
SEEYA!!!!
That was a laser that Burton hit out.
1-1 in the top of the 4th.

Top 6 1-1
Michigan batting runner on 1st 0 out
Why even try to steal 3rd there?
Should be bases loaded with 1 out
Trying to get runner at 3rd less than 2 out. Getting late early with 11 outs remaining so playing for one run.
Getting close to where our AD might need to fire someone...
This team couldntn hitn itseslf out of a paper bag...constantly stranding runners all season long...This looks like a 2 and out...
Played poorly all year, in comparison to expectations. Probably shouldn’t have gotten into the tournament at all. Playing with a whimper tonight. Not surprising I suppose.
Did the recruiting get any kind of bump from 2019? Doesn’t seem so.
I'll be honest I don't know the format of these tournaments. Is this single-elimination at this stage, or is it a series?
Double elimination.
Unless we somehow pull this one out of our ass, we play CMU in the loser's bracket tomorrow at noon.
How many teams advance from the region? Just 1? Or the top 2?
Just 1 from each region
So if Michigan beats CMU tomorrow that eliminates the Chips & Michigan would need to beat ND twice to advance but ND just needs to beat Michigan once
The winner of Michigan/Central would have to beat the loser of ND/UConn once before beating the winner of that game twice to win the region.
I don't know if anyone is still watching, but that 8th inning catch in CF by Christan Bullock was one of the finest I've seen!
What was the score? For those of us without ESPN3 we love when you guys throw in the updates. Sounds like this wasn't a good one.
Not good. We're down 6-1 in the top of the 9th. Plenty of baserunners ( 3 HBP and I believe 6 walks) but only 2 hits for us so far.
Definitely a disappointing game. Besides the miracle run in 2019 Michigan has been extremely inconsistent under Bakich and, save for 2019, does not show up in big games.
Bakich only has the best winning percentage of any coach here since the 80s, 4 NCAA tournament appearances in the last 6 full seasons (there were 5 total from 1990-2014) and a Big Ten tournament title, but yeah you can continue to believe he's a fraud if you wish.
I never said he was a fraud. This board loves to bully and attack people.
You are spot on. But no one likes assessing things objectively around here. This season was underwhelming at best.
save for 2019, does not show up in big games.
yup, except for that one year, which was…checks notes…last season. the program is obviously reeling.
Actually fire him now? Maybe if there is another year like this. Looks like 2019 didn’t change the direction.
Although the season started well for Michigan baseball, the team is 4-7 since losing 10-2 at Michigan State on May 9 and, with a 27-17 record and an RPI of 88, they might've been the last at-large team selected for the NCAA Tournament. Central Michigan currently is 40-17 (10-5 since May 9) and had an RPI of 52 before the NCAA Tournament.
