WIsh it was earlier.
March 24th, 2019 at 10:17 PM ^
OTOH, your favorite coach and his team play at 7:09 on Friday.
March 24th, 2019 at 10:21 PM ^
I AM a Michigan fan first and foremost.
I just gave an opinion.
An opinion that is dumb sure but still, Beilein is a heck of a coach.
I'd want my kids to play for him.
March 24th, 2019 at 10:27 PM ^
tough to believe when your posting history includes one of the all-time worst takes (izzo > beilein) and this: 'at least msu won'. you can't be serious that you are a michigan fan 'first and foremost'
March 25th, 2019 at 12:02 AM ^
You can't be a Michigan fan "first and foremost" for thinking Izzo>Beilein? That's an all-time worst take?
I'd take Beilein over Izzo, but national consensus of neutral viewpoints would certainly have Izzo>Beilein. Fine to disagree, and I do, but it's reasonable to think otherwise and still be UM 1st.
not only do i disagree with that take of his as it relates purely to basketball, but after reading the pleadings for the ongoing rape case in the western district federal court here in michigan in regards to 3 of izzo's players raping an undergrad a few years back (along with all of the other evidence of sexual assault by his and other sparty players), izzo is not in the same galaxy as beilein.
March 25th, 2019 at 12:24 AM ^
As someone that lives on the West Coast, I am thrilled about this start time.
Thur!
March 25th, 2019 at 10:17 AM ^
Same, especially as someone who will have to drive through rush hour from LA to OC to get to the game.
March 24th, 2019 at 10:06 PM ^
Of course sharty gets the 7:09 game on friday
March 24th, 2019 at 10:44 PM ^
By 9:30 they’d lose all of the stupid drunks that make up their fanbase. It’s an economic decision with the advertisers
I mean they’re in the East region and Michigan is in the West. Not sure how this is a surprise to anyone.
March 25th, 2019 at 10:27 AM ^
Huh? All four regions have two game sessions, with the first game tipping at about the same time. (7:09 PM ET for one game, 7:29 for the other).
I don't care when MSU's game is, but any scheduling difference has nothing to do with the region.
March 25th, 2019 at 10:57 AM ^
You are correct and I am dumb. Too early and too little coffee.
March 24th, 2019 at 10:08 PM ^
WIN THE GAME!!
March 24th, 2019 at 10:12 PM ^
Is what it is, but.... Gonzaga is the 1 seed and their fans won’t even be home from work when they play. Common sense decision to make them the late game. I guess once again this proves that NCAA and common sense don’t go together.
March 24th, 2019 at 10:16 PM ^
Yep. Makes no sense at all. Oh well, guess I'll take a nap Thursday afternoon. Go Blue!
March 24th, 2019 at 11:25 PM ^
You're correct, but I think Michigan moves the TV needle a little bit more. We will draw a national audience.
March 24th, 2019 at 10:14 PM ^
Thankfully, I will be on spring break! Late games suck when you have to teach the next day.
March 24th, 2019 at 10:42 PM ^
Preaching to the choir on that one.
March 24th, 2019 at 10:15 PM ^
Awesome. Convenient time in the central time zone. Graduated from Mich, but sent much more money to Tech (sent 2 son's there). Will be fun to watch with the family!!!! Go Blue (in case there were any doubts).
March 24th, 2019 at 10:33 PM ^
Hmmmm, I thought M grads knew how to use apostrophes...
March 24th, 2019 at 10:41 PM ^
It's possible he used the apostrophe right and just didn't convey the meaning correctly. Like he could've been saying he sent two children there, but his daughter left and his son is there currently, hence "sent 2; son is there (now)" Then the apostrophe would be appropriate!
March 25th, 2019 at 10:22 AM ^
Perhaps I hastily typed a comment on a blog site, knowing the use of possessives. Or, perhaps I used it as a metaphor, of how meaningless grammar possesses your mind.
March 24th, 2019 at 11:41 PM ^
This is only a late game in the Eastern time zone, not in Anaheim where the game will be played. From that standpoint, the 9:39 pm start is actually earlier than Sparty's gametime the following night in DC.
March 24th, 2019 at 10:28 PM ^
I would like the NCAA to know that I need this Tournament - at least my alma mater's involvement in it - to work better with my work / sleep routine.
That said, I'll throw caution to the wind and stay up regardless, but still...
March 24th, 2019 at 10:36 PM ^
Happy to be living out here in the Mountain time zone. A 7:30ish tip is just fine for me.
GO BLUE!! Beat the Red Raiders.
March 24th, 2019 at 10:43 PM ^
Kinda sucky, coworker wants me and my wife to go to her birthday night out on Friday. Going to have to tell her no probably cause I am going to be too tired on Friday to stay up late.
March 24th, 2019 at 11:18 PM ^
It sounds like someone needs a snickers...
I'm not here to judge, but I ended up judging anyway. You can't go out Friday night because Michigan has a 10pm game on Thursday? Sitting on your couch watching TV until around midnight Thursday night is going to require you a full 24-hour recovery period? I hope there's more to this story, like you have to run a marathon Saturday morning or something.
It may be that he gets completely wasted anytime Michigan is playing in basketball or football. I was like that for a while, a noon football or a 10 PM basketball game. I was going to drink. Now a little bit older and hangovers feel like actual organ failure so those days are largely gone but it was like that for a while.
March 25th, 2019 at 10:49 AM ^
If that were the case, and he's planning to drink himself into an immobile hangover worthy of at least a full 24 hour recovery, then the game starting a couple hours later isn't going to change anything.
March 25th, 2019 at 11:35 AM ^
Very good point. Those two hours can make a lot of difference, like if I wanted to drink for a game that ended at 10 PM I could pull off some semblance of a work day that next day whereas midnight I would probably be taking that next day off.
However, here where the issue is whether he can go out the next day as well, I have to agree that those two extra hours should not be a deal breaker.

West coast is the best coast!
March 24th, 2019 at 10:47 PM ^

March 24th, 2019 at 10:52 PM ^
What the heck are you talking about? 9:59 PM ET is 12:59 PM AEDT. Should be a nice daytime game for you. ;)
March 24th, 2019 at 11:28 PM ^
LOL.
Unless he's from Sydney FL.
Or maybe Sydney ND.
Then again, maybe it's Sydney KY...

Welcome all Wolverines to Southern California. Weather will be 72 degrees and sunny with low humidity. The Rose Bowl offers tours this Friday. Might as well see it as we haven't been there for many years. Let's bring it at the Honda Center. Go Blue!
March 24th, 2019 at 11:49 PM ^
We see you every day
March 24th, 2019 at 11:53 PM ^
Hope to see you at the game Mr. Glick.

Rose bowl? From Anaheim? Hope you keep a helicopter handy....
Word.
It's closer than Ann Arbor.
