As you are aware, the tradition now is to have such threads after both outcomes in football as well as hoops. It is simply that - if this had been a loss and and if football is any precedent - this thread would already have about 200 replies and have resulted in someone going to Bolivia.

The pessimistic way to look at this is that it's hard to take much away from KenPom's 340th ranked team. On the other hand, it appears (I didn't see all of the game) some players were solid and others pretty good, opponent aside. Not groundbreaking news here but when this team is on with their shooting, very good things will come. When they're not, it's going to be a more difficult year than last without Trey to create shots out of very little. And yea, keep thinking good thoughts for McGary. I'm not sure he's going to be all that great when he first comes back but his presence alone will make this team ever better.

Post-game, especially after a loss, people feel compelled to share their (beautiful, unique, snowflake-like) hot takes with the blog. These are supposed to be restricted to a single thread to keep the board from disappearing in a blizzard of threads with crappy OP's.

It came from rage perhaps, but the idea is this - rather than have 50-5,000 individual and largely redundant threads on each game as it concludes, people would be presented the opportunity to post their thoughts in pre-determined threads. Each thought, of course, is a "snowflake". That's why we do this here - it is content management, but it also facilitates a more organized discussion as opposed to the random streams of consciousness that people try to post after games. The rule gets tweaked from time to time, and in the case of last Saturday, strictly enforced at least for an evening. It does drive behavior somewhat, I believe. That's the whole idea.

That makes sense. I got the concept of it, but just never understood what snowflakes had to do with it, but that makes sense.

The BIg Ten notched some huge wins today which I love to see. Obviously #2 MSU over #1 Kentucky and #20 Wisconsin just knocked off #11 Florida. Looks like it could be another year of the Big Ten being the country's topic league - I know some thought it would take a step back this year.

This is slightly OT but has been driving me crazy for months. There is this one song that is played at Crisler that I like but have no idea what it is. It is purely a beat, last season they would play it when introducing the starting lineup. This year I have heard a few bits and pieces of it, but since it has no lyrics I have had trouble finding it. Does anyone know the song I am referring to?

my only snowflake is that I am sure glad Jabari Parker went to Duke and not MSU...Holy crap is he good. MSU would have been unstoppable with him

I think Morgan has the best chance of balancing the post and perimeter defence it requires to guard him. It may be one of the only games he gets major minutes (along with MSU to guard Payne). I know he can't stay with Parker on the perimeter but I think Morgan has a better chance on the perimeter than Robinson or Levert do in the post. I believe Parker's main criticism is that he is not exceptionally quick. No one can really gaurd the kid but I think Morgan will have the best chance.

Yesterday, Self tried going big to defend Parker and he blew by the Kansas frontcourt with ease or hit three pointers if they even gave him a little space. The only effective defender on him was Wiggins, whose length and athleticism caused more problems and prevented Parker from getting inside.
The Carmelo Anthony comparisons notwithstanding, I still don't think Parker has proven himself in the post. Therefore, I think the best defender is one who can approximate the athleticism and length of Andrew Wiggins. There is one such player on the Michigan roster, and given the fact that he wants to be guarding players of Parker's caliber ona nightly basis next year, GRIII should be up for the challenge
