Michigan vs. Nebraska Basketball Open Thread
First time that's ever been a subject line. Don't want to put too much into one game, but as a winnable road game coming off a loss, it'd be nice to get this one. 8:30 BTN (assuming MSU/PSU doesn't run long for some dumb reason). Go Blue, make it just like football.

3-3 from 3! Vogrich is feeling it.* THJ was taking it to the hoop to slump bust.* Whatcha got Smotrycz?
*Hopefully, these are not just products of playing Nebraska.

I would like to see Brundidge get some tread here, I think he has to be a contributer next year for the team to be successful.
February 8th, 2012 at 10:12 PM ^
why exactly?
for them to be successfull that is, not why he needs to play. He may get passed by stauskas if he doesnt start getting minutes and experience IMO
February 8th, 2012 at 10:23 PM ^
because he is the only potential point guard left on the roster (sorry Jbart and Eso) after stu leaves and trey cannot play all 40 especially against good teams. Depth is one of the most important aspects of college basketball. This year we may have a lack of depth in the frontcourt but next year we will have a lack of depth in the backcourt.
February 8th, 2012 at 10:10 PM ^
Agreed. We should get him some playing time while we're in blowout mode.
February 8th, 2012 at 10:13 PM ^
He's back in AA. Had an asthma attack IIRC.

Court sounds mighty quiet, lot of Go Blues floating around.
February 8th, 2012 at 11:37 PM ^
I was there, and the crowd was near-silent. It was not a sellout, but was probably about 75% full. There was a nice Michigan contingent.

bartlestein has the ugliest shot ever.
February 8th, 2012 at 10:14 PM ^
Hey, Nebraska broke 40!
February 8th, 2012 at 10:14 PM ^
damn wanted to keep them under 40
February 8th, 2012 at 10:14 PM ^
During one of the TV timeouts, they must have added some larger rims. This is crazy how many shots are falling now that the game is out of reach - on both sides.

62-46 Michigan final.

WHY NO DEFENSE AT END TIMES?
February 8th, 2012 at 10:15 PM ^
Dammit! Could've won by 20+
February 8th, 2012 at 10:15 PM ^
Yay, another road win!
February 8th, 2012 at 10:16 PM ^
We were 6-8 from 3 in the second half. Hopefully, this team can remember what driving to the hoop did for their 3-pt%.
February 8th, 2012 at 10:20 PM ^
Forever this. Nebrasketball had to close down on Morgan down low and that left a guy wide open the entire second half. Timmay also slashing helped with this.
February 8th, 2012 at 10:23 PM ^
Beilein will like this stat: 17 assists on 24 made FGs. Plus only 6 turnovers.
Solid Big Ten road win.

We played a great game. Smotcryz is shelling up, it doesn't look good for him this season. 13 minutes, no field goal attempts, no free throws, 1 Defensive rebound, 1 turnover and 2 fouls. It might be something he can work out of in the off season because his confidence is shot. Hardaway is fighting through it, and I think he'll be fine. We have a week off between Illinois and Ohio, and I think he'll get through it then and come up big against Ohio. I hope Smotcryz can get stuff figured out in that week as well - we really need him to make some noise in the NCAA Tournament.
Oh and watching the end of the game? Man we have no bench. I think Colton and Blake could get much better with some more playing time, but man that is it.
