Sack up and lay those points down, wimps!  Baby wants a new Tesla!

2 point conversions.

Harbaugh, when truly interested in running up the score, will strictly follow the "2-pt conversion cheat sheet"

We've seen it against Penn State, and against Rutgers (twice - Rutgers likes to chirp, and Harbaugh chirps back).

If Hawai'i gets salty, JJ might score 2x 2-point conversions. 46 points.

The Vandy QB had 13 caries for 163 yds. And Vandy had 404 yards rushing. If Coach Harbaugh ever wanted a big day from a running QB, it might be get it Saturday. I just don't want to see injury to JJ McCarthy from running too much. Maybe Blake Corum can get 200.

Hawaii hiring Graham in the first place is among the worst coaching hires ever.  He had no Hawaii (or even west coast) ties, which are important for the program.  And of course his track record of being a jerk before Hawaii.

It’s going to be a tough long road back for them.  But they do have a Hawaii legend as coach though - that should help.

Iowa favored by 3. Keep that pure excitement of 57 total yards rushing (against who?) and 2 safeties coming baby!

I caught a bit of their game against Vandy and they looked noticeably less athletic than a Vanderbilt, which is technically in the SEC but certainly shouldn't be showing up another FBS team.  46 points feels about right; I could see UM fail to cover simply because they call off the dogs.

Michigan could easily cover the spread in the 1H and then call off the dog's for the 2H and still easily cover lol.

Michigan should have had 40+ on the board against CSU in the 1H yesterday. Trust me when I say this. Hawaii sucks ass.

This is going to be ugly and I'm 10000000% putting money on the -46.

This is Hawaii’s worst team since at least 1998 (0-12, all multi score losses including a 26 point home loss to Northwestern who was winless in the Big Ten that year).  Michigan played Hawaii that year too.  Michigan was favored by 38 (on the road, so not materially different than 46 at home —- in theory).

1998 game was a 48-17 “let’s just get through this” snoozer that Hawaii covered.  Could be the same - although it was the finale in 1998 of course which is a different dynamic versus early September.

I remember when Michigan used to schedule a 12th game in Hawai’i every now and then as a sort of extra bowl game.  Tough to do these days…

I remember seeing (on TV) the 1986 game, wherein Monte Robbins set the Michigan record for a punt of 82 yards (Big TENNNNN).  I believe that was the last time this game was close.

As for the spread: Michigan nearly covered that against CSU, and Hawai’i appears to be much worse.

So they're predicting something like 55-10? Maybe if Michigan takes their foot off the gas. Vandy put up 63-10 and Western Kentucky put up a 49-17. Michigan could probably give Hawaii the Rutgers treatment if they tried

I'll bet 72-7

it's good that we get to see McCarthy...

It makes a game with a 46 point spread more exciting than otherwise

I am also glad this team gets a few weeks to iron out the kinks....  I think both the offense and defense need it.

If McCarthy takes the QB situation to the next level this could be a special team in Michigan lore.  We may be a much improved team by November.

I do still feel badly for Cade.  If he ends up the backup, then he is a great backup, and if or when he transfers, I'll be cheering for him.

It's a great time to be a Michigan fan!

That seemed like a lot of points til I looked at how Hawaii has done so far this year. They're already 2 games in, gave up 63 points to Vandy and 49 to Western Kentucky. That is a rough start.

Okay, I get that it's a long damn flight, but how in the Mele Kalikimaka does Hawaii have a hard time recruiting? Who WOULDN'T want to go to school there? You'd think they could at least knock together a pretty good MWC team.

Hawai’i is a great place to visit, but I wouldn’t want to live there, especially as a college student.  You’re priced out of absolutely everything, and you’ve done everything there is to do (in your price range, anyway) by October of your freshman year.  And it’s a minimum of a five-hour flight, each way, to see your friends or family from the mainland.

Hawai’i might really benefit from NIL; maybe they’ll start to get those high-level MWC prospects you’re talking about if they know they can bring the family over for a game or two on their NIL dime.

They probably have more competition in practice than the first 4-6 weeks this season. I can't believe some people pay as much as they do for season tickets for this kind of competition.

Back in 1989, in their first year off of the death penalty, SMU lost to Houston and the Heisman-winning Andre Ware 95-21.  The Cougars had over 1,000 yards on offense.

These two teams are probably that mismatched.  The score is going to be 100% a function of how soon the dogs get called off.  And with a hot QB competition in progress and a shaky passing game in Game #1, I wouldn't count on that happening until maybe late in the 3rd quarter.  This is probably the worst team to come to the Big House since Delaware State.

That Houston-SMU game is the reason that Gary Moeller never called of the dogs in 1992, beating them 62-7.  After the game he said that if you live by the sword, then you die by the sword.  Years later, he said he received many phone calls from coaches that got run by those Houston teams to say thank you.

I have a ton of respect for their coach and program.  They are also dealing with a huge number of transfers in and out of the program.   Their stadium was condemned and it's just really tough for the Rainbow Warriors and their fans right now.
