Thanks for the correction, Miggle. As far as the numbers working out, they are currently at 65 (77 right now, lost 9 seniors, two graduating linemen with one year left leaving, Spence gone). There have been rumors of Dunn looking around (I would not be surprised if he or Ball leaves, both leaving would be a surprise, however). Devin Bogard tore his ACL for the third time this year so there is the possibility of him hanging up the cleats. If 2 of those 3 leave, that brings you to 62 with 23 spots open. Right now, they have 25 commits but it is possible that LS Liam McCullogh gets a grey shirt and it appears Carlton Davis is going to Auburn. They are still pursuing Arnette, Porter Gustin and Isaiah Prince, however, so it appears that the staff is assuming they will lose 2-3 more guys to attrition.

I have a kind of different perspective on RB depth.  RB is the one position where I really don't care about a kid's experience.  If not taking an RB in 2015 makes Michigan extremely appealing to a great crop of possible 2016 RB prospects (and having one more place for an RB), then I'd be fine taking a couple in the next class and passing on RBs in 2015.

That would leave us with Green, Smith, Isaac, and Johnson in 2015, the same guys and a couple of true freshmen RBs in 2016, and Isaac, the 2016 RB class, and the 2017 RB class in 2017.  That seems fine to me.  We'll be relying heavily on youth if Isaac gets hurt or flops, but if you're going to rely on youth anywhere, it's at RB.

Then again, if they find an RB they really like - Booker or another guy - it's obviously a good move to take him.

Has Michigan ever offered a player from the Fox Valley Conference in football before this? Probably need to add a non-Cary Grove caveat but I'm curious if anyone knows or knows how to find the answer.

Looking at some old schedules, we managed to get blown out by Grayslake Central my sophomore year (and went 0-3 against you guys while I was in there).

We had a RB in my class go 1-AA but I don't think he even had preferred walkon interest from any of the Big Ten schools.

but remember that the old Fox Valley also had Lake Zurich in it. I'm a recent FVC grad, and I bet Michigan wouldve offered a friend of mine from Cary Grove if he hadnt been considered a Notre Dame lock. I know Sparty, Iowa, and UW offered him. A teammate of mine was being recruited by Michigan for awhile until he went to the MAC. It's got some great talent, but not very good exposure. Almost every team my senior season had a Division 1 player except for Woodstock.

with our recruiting.  As has been said often it is hard to start so late and put something together, but we are taking shots all over the place.  It is really hard to predict how this will turn out but it is looking like the class will not fill up.  I am definitely okay with banking some scholarships
