Michigan Monday apparently found a new home

I didn't see a post for Michigan Monday, so I took a gander at Gerd's Twitter account. Apparently Michigan Monday is on a different site now. Michigan Monday

Here are the first few paragraphs:

If you are a Michigan fan, you’re probably still nodding your head in approval regarding nearly everything you saw in the Wolverines’ 49-24 win at Minnesota Saturday night.

It was a win that was so emphatic and dominating that you may have no negative thoughts about the game at all. Fortunately, I am here to change that for you.

That’s actually a joke because this was a very impressive performance by a team that many people expected to struggle. The Wolverines had their first punt of the game blocked and a few plays later Minnesota went up 7-0 and there was a sense of “here we go again.” Instead, Michigan responded in one play with a 70-yard touchdown run by Zach Charbonnet right through the heart of the Gopher defense.

There was no desire from this Michigan team to be a laughingstock. The only punchlines were delivered by new Viper Michael Barrett and defensive ends Aidan Hutchinson and Kwity Paye. None of it was funny because that’s the way the Wolverines like their comedy.

Don't think this deserves a new thread because it's hearsay.

But from what I understand, Harbaugh's contract just isn't a priority for him right now.

There is some debate on whether this year should count as a contract year (for more coaches than Harbaugh, especially 2020 spring and fall coaches). Because it's a free year for the players (and some, maybe most faculty).

Also, in this economic climate, they do not want to announce a new multimillion dollar deal with the football coach. Feels insensitive with furloughs and layoffs.

Long story short, it's nothing to worry about TODAY - even if it was done, we probably wouldn't know about it. Have a shit season and maybe things change. For now, onward.

Yours is a horrible take.

Fact is, Gerdeman calls it like it is, with a twinge of cocksuckerness, as it should be coming from a Buckeye... but the value in his analyses is that it is essentially the truth without the maize colored glasses on, devoid of idealism.

"If you’re looking for a worry spot, Michigan never tackled him in the backfield. He was held to no gain on just four of his 26 rushes."

This is noteworthy. A lot of people in the re-watch post seem to think the DL was good but the back 7 were the ones underperforming, which doesn't sound right to me.

I think the jury is still out on run D. UM was playing with a lead for almost the entire game, and particularly in the 2nd half UM was more than content to sit back and let them run the ball for a few yards a play rather than give up something over the top. I think one of the players even said as much after the game (don't remember who or where).

If anything, it may be a sign of good discipline that the defense didn't give up a chunk run all game.

I stopped reading after the special teams bit. Hudson "faded" in '18? His production dropped off because he was tasked with a bit of a different role. Does this guy even watch Michigan play? It used to be a good read, but it "faded" last year, and so far this year I'm unimpressed.

While I agree he didn't fade all of 2018 or 2019, he did have some moments in big games where he did. The offsides on the punt against OSU last year as well as not picking up Dobbins out of the backfield into the flat on a big 3rd down come to mind. Lost contain on a couple Dobbins runs too
