Michigan Men’s Basketball has now won 31 of their last 32 Games

The lone loss to Villanova in the National Championship Game...who played out of their minds that night.  This is just absurd.  And yet I feel that Beilein, while well respected, is still probably the most underrated Men’s Basketball Coach around.

That's not what annoys him, OP. What's annoying is that with every game, these win/loss records become stale as it follows a simple formula even the most casual fan has been made aware of by now. It's a nice little side fact but probably doesn't deserve it's own post.

Besides 17-0 is really the only one that matters. Ask the players and coaches and I'm sure they'll say the same thing.

if they can make it through the next 6 games they'll have gone a full calendar year since their last non-National Championship-game loss. Feb 6, 2018 @Northwestern was the last time they lost prior to the title game. Helluva run.

Let me know when you guys are ready to work on spelling.  Down here in Ohio they practice constantly on how to spell "Ohio" because candidly, I think they're unsure of what letters need to go where.

You'll see them walking along and suddenly someone will yell 'O.H." unsure of what comes next.  Luckily there is usually someone close by who is willing to help them out and will respond "I.O" so they can finish the word properly.

I was at the DMV outside Cincinnati and had a wonderful discussion with someone working there about the football teams a few years ago when she saw that I was moving from Michigan.  As I was leaving, she tossed out an "O-H."  The silence that followed bordered on the holy.  It was perfect to slip in a quiet "n-o."

I don't think I've ever heard anyone do that.

Now, don't get me wrong -- if someone plays the song, you can count on everyone within earshot to clap four times at the appropriate spot.  And, they play it during the 7th inning stretch at Astros games (hey, Houston, look at a map!).  I don't know that I've ever noticed it at a UT game, but I've only been to a couple.  It's nothing at all like O-H, which is like "hello" to an OSU fan.

Quick poll, though -- which is more irritating?  O-H or We-Are?  I go back and forth...

J... I'm severely impressed that my comment didnt go "whoooosh" right over your head. You're probably right in the current climate. In the 80s.. everyone half in touch with shit like this, would have "HAILED" to a comment like that. Kudos for randomly knowing. Hand clap.

Don't mind this being posted over and over - though the memories are thankfully fading, I still have nightmares of the Ellerbe/Amaker years.

This shit is a LOT more fun...

31 regular season games and If they get a top 4 seed in the conference then a max of 3 tournament games so at 17-0 we are halfway through the regular season. To get a 1 seed in March you need a minimum of 27 wins in a chaos filled year but probably closer to 30 and some form of conference championship this year. So what's everyones final record prediction at the halfway point? I want to say 30-4 but even that feels a little bearish at this point.

30-4 is not bearish.  The Big Ten is really, really good this year.  KenPom would be something like 28-6 ish (MSU is ahead of Michigan in KenPom right now).

I'm not saying 30-4 is unattainable.  I just think it's slightly optimistic.

If they get to 22-0 (wins @Wisconsin, vs. Minnesota, @Indiana, vs. OSU, @Iowa), 30-4 would start to look bearish.  KenPom has Michigan 3.4-1.6 through the next five games; put another way, a 14% chance to get to 22-0.

I think the most likely records are somewhere between 28-6 and 30-4.  At this point, 7 losses would be a little disappointing.  If they can win four out of the next five, I'd look toward the upper end of that range.
