Aside from childhood allegience, familiy ties, or a  desire to stay near home, why would any top tight end not choose Harbaugh?

Don't knock the kid if he doesn't come to UM. The above 3 reasons are powerful motivators.

some really high profile 4 and 5 star guys shy away from Harbaugh in favor of going somewhere where they might get more entitled treatment vs. having to actually compete for and earn playing time. Not everyone is willing to meet the Harbaugh level of work ethic commitment (Ty Isaac?).

Interesting that Miami(ytm) is not included. I now fully believe location has more to do with his high interest in Georgia than Richt. That isn't a good sign for us but we shall see.

Neg me, but if there was "nauta chance" he would come to UM, then I think the coaches and fellow recruits wouldn't be working so hard to get him here. I'm not expecting it, but I don't think it's as out of reach as some of you guys claim it to be. It sure doesn't hurt that their coaching staff is in complete turnover mode right now. He knows what he will get with the Michigan staff - obviously not the same case with Georgia. And here is where I predict that he still goes to Georgia, but I'm still saying there's a chance...

I agree, we have enough depth at TE to where we can take a prospect like Chase Allen and develop him.  Nauta is probably not coming to AA, so if a player like Allen wants to commit, I take him.  BTW,  Chase Allen has the body type like a Jake Butt or Ian Bunting and is a great athlete.  It might take a year or two to get him physically ready, but we've got that time.  I really like Allen as a prospect.

You state that we have enough depth at TE, then that leads one to question why we should even take Chase Allen at the risk of losing a spot for some of the other remaining guys on our board. I wouldn't mind having Allen, but I feel he's an end of the line priority, after it's clear that many other guys aren't coming to Michigan and don't need spots.

If qb holds the ball for 2.2 seconds and throws it as far as he can there is no way he can out throw that young man. Know it's not us but someone is going to get one hell of a game changer. On level with the wideout from Dame this season.

Fair enough.  My point is that we do need to bring in another TE in this class, but it doesn't have to be a TE that has to contirbute right away.  Nauta probabaly would be able to contribute right away, but we're probably not getting him.  So, I would take Allen in a heartbeat because I think he will be ready to play after Butt and others leave.

I don't think so. This kid wants to stay home. More power too him. Not the best as a TE most likely, but he can still get a good degree and do well.

Country and become a average player. When he can be coached up and a focal point of a offense and a team ready to take College Football by storm the next 3-5 years!
