The Michigan Difference - New Ad(s)
http://www.michigandifference.org/
Set to premiere during the Western Game this weekend, they have new extended and short versions of their new ad. I love these things.

Whoever thought "Victors" and "xylophone" was thinking outside of the box, but they nailed it.
If they get it up on their YouTube site, I'll see about embedding it. (or if one of our video experts can figure out how to get this video in, be my guest and show me up. Again).

Unfortunately, that may have been poached from an OSU commercial. They have Carmen Ohio on a xylophone for one of their newish ads.

has been doing that for years. 2006 were the first ones I believe.

The hospital Michigan Difference ads have had the xylophone victors since 2009. How recent was that OSU ad?

All of the Michigan Difference ads that I can think of have xylophone in them; they just used them as intro for the violin playing The Victors.

You're hearing the marimba in the Michigan Difference commercials, but let's not argue over petty percussion instruments.

Football is a tough, tough man's sport.

It was the kid with the robotic legs and the fistpump that got you, too, right? That was so ridiculous. I cried, and that was so ridiculous also. I guess there are times when a thing like the genuine, exuberant glee of a very-sick child forces the muezzin of my soul to call the drum under my sternum to beat outside my chest--not invulnerably.

it is expected.

Those ads are awesome with a side of tremendous.
BOOM! Science'd.

Those backing tracks feature a marimba, I think. Not a xylophone.

And "cello." Marimba and cello, mostly. I hear a second and maybe a third string line, which is a violin, and maybe a viola. It's nice music. Nicely done.

I'm pretty sure it's a xylophone. Marimbas sound a little more "earthy," IMO. They're clearly using softer mallets than usual, probably wood with a thin yarn covering.

It could also be a synth with a delay on it. It doesn't really matter, though. It's a beautiful song.

Amazing how you can watch those commercials and just be happy to be associated with the University.

The Victors on a xylophone and I think it's the best sound for these commercials.

Anything to replace the generic one looping on the Big Ten network this summer. To go from Space Bitches, Space to that was quite the downgrade.

The other is a University one. They're separate, and probably will both air.

My niece spent the first couple months of her life at Mott's and I'll always be thankful for that place...these new "little victors" commercials are perfect!
