Is Michigan adding the Midline Series to Offense?
I just read GBMW and their take on the Midline Series. For the life of me I can't figure out if we are adding it or not. Those fellas confuse me sometimes.

Exhibit A:
"We start by saying we would like Michigan to add the midline series to the current offense. Denard Robinson running this set would give opposition defensive coordinators nightmares!"
Exhibit B:
"Adding the midline would be huge in my opinion, but do it with Denard not Tate."
Exhibit C:
"UM is adding midline this year because an offense can run it against an even or odd front and its a great compliment to the inside zone."
I have never heard of the Midline but it sounds new and exciting and sexy, what yall think?
Watch some Oregon film from last year, Masoli runs the midline option plays to perfection.
Yes, and I think Masoli is extra good at it because he's a tough runner. Running inside works for him because he can fall forward and/or break some tackles.
Midline is explosive, as evidenced by Oregon's breakout games where they average 300+ rushing yards a game or something equally ridiculous.
HOWEVER, we have seen that Tate and Denard do not even run the zone option perfectly or anything approaching that, and I would think that the midline is a quicker read to make. They struggled all year making the read on the end. Watching Oregon from this year, it is clear how experienced Masoli is at running the midline and zone read (yes, I know he is a RS Senior now).
We all have heard that Denard was a single wing QB in high school, so hopefully with a year of experience and another spring's worth of practice, we can successfully run a multitude of run looks next year - the zone read, triple option, midline, veer, and the speed option we unveiled at Iowa.
Just a reminder, but both Tate and Denard were FRESHMEN last year. Give them some time, and most likely they will improve in their reads. Everyone thinks that these guys should be running the offense like 5th year seniors.
Yeah, I absolutely understand. I just hope that the coaches potentially adding the midline would mean that Tate and Denard have progressed to a point where they are handling the zone read better and so the coaches think they can handle the midline.
Did we ever run the read option with Denard?
The midline has been around for years. It involves reading the playside 3 technique. Usually any read-option system will have the midline package installed along with the load and load option.
Stop reading that website!
I'm not saying you should read mine. Feel free to never read mine.
But I'd rather visit a Monkey Etch-A-Sketch museum than read GBMW.
STFU when I want advice from you I will ask:)
You would have an issue with Monkey Etch-A-Sketch museum's.
I agree with the intent, but monkey museums are a place I want to go. It's like saying, "stop reading the Times, I'd rather go to MGoBlog."
It doesn't help.
Do we actually get to see the monkeys playing with Etch-A-Sketches or only their work. This greatly impacts the weight of this statement.
The process is more important than the result.
Glad to hear other people hate that site as much as I do. That guy acts like if RR gets fired he is next in line to get the job. Complete douche and my respect for this blog just increased ten fold.
Very difficult to defend if complemented with an effective off tackle series. Fun to watch.
How many of you goofballs have joined GBMW's top secret Message Board?
http://www.boards2go.com/boards/board.cgi?user=GBMW
That shit is way too creepy for me, a questionnaire to get the privilege of reading CoachBT butcher the English Language and ERoc discussing the different shades of Bricks used on the Michigan Stadium and how the new masonry is UNACCEPTABLE!!! Plus, those fucks are retarded.
Hey now! They're creating a "Holy Grail of message board and blog sites". I'm sure all 34 members are doing good at english and making the world OK.
coachbt gets his shit pinned on scout almost every day. Insider information like this...
If Michigan looses to MSU it will be the biggest lose of the season.
The UM o-line will have to get bigger & stronger if they plan to be a bigger & stronger unit.
I want a defense that will rip someones fucking head off and shove it up their fucking ass!!!!!
If we have a loosing record it will be a big lose and will affect recruiting and we will prolly loose recruits to.
If the defense improves, and we score more points than our opponent, there is a 60-40 chance we win.
Priceless
I almost didn't plus you because my wife is sleeping, and I think I woke her up laughing at your post.
needs this site:

Yeah, I just went over there. Why do I always take the bait? It's like reading a new immigrant's stream of consciousness in English instead of his native language--it sort of makes sense, but it's completely out of order and needs punctuation. Yet, I can't take my eyes off of it.
It's hideous yet I can't look away.
than Ozzie Guillen's twitter account
If it makes our offense even more explosive, I have no problem with it.
I believe they are referring to this http://smartfootball.com/run-game/oregons-zone-read-of-the-defensive-ta…
Wow that was incredibly impressive but beyond my ken. I would have more success trying to operate a sewing machine
A little busy on the homefront with a baby on the way in mid-April.
Also, this will be a more over/under diary with field/boundary discussion. Furthermore, I may wait until after the UM coaches' clinic April 8-10.
where are your priorities, man?
GBMW is to Michigan blogs what DJ Khaled is to music.
GBMW is to Michigan Blogs what Brokencyde is to Music.
Ok. What the FUCK is that? Man I'm getting old.
..because I would definetly not call that music.
Brokencyde: The act of having a penis inserted into your ear.
Brokencyde is:

how did these dbags get decent looking women to appear with them on camera? What some people will do for money (or even for the promise of money) is incredible.
I'll never get back the 1:34 I wasted watching that video! OMG Shirtless, you owe me!
I would travel many miles to visit such a place. I would buy their t-shirts, put their bumpersticker on my car, and bookmark their website. I would slavishly await their latest Youtubes of new Etch-A-Sketches done by their resident simian artistes. I would create an image of a group of monkeys all working feverishly at their Etch-A-Sketches, all of them wearing winged helmets.
I ran midline in high school, though it was out of the i-formation. Assuming it is ran the same, the hardest part is not the read. The tailback has to block the play-side linebacker. If he does not make the block of the ILB rushes the line, the play is squashed.
...uses the zone action to hopefully get the ILB to flow. This is the replacement for the lack of a lead blocker through the B gap. That's the difference; the similarities are the read of the 3-technique and a fan block of the DE.
