Ed McCaffrey is out as head coach at University of Northern Colorado after only 2 seasons and a record of 6-16. His teams went 3-8 both years.

Former UM QB Dylan McCaffrey was a senior this year at UNC, after having played 2 seasons at UM where he played in 5 games in 2018 and 6 games in 2019, going 18 for 35 for 242 yards with 3 TDS and 0 INTs.

UNC cancelled their 2020 season due to Covid, but D-Caff played in 10 games in 2021 and 10 games in 2022, where he was 348 for 580 for 3257 yards with 17 TDS and 19 INTs.

Fwiw, saw Dylan play at U.C. Davis last season.  Although he had a couple good receivers including another transfer from Michigan whose name escapes me. He had no time whatsoever to throw.  He took a lot of hits and all he could do was throw quick slants because of the pass rush and lack of protection.  Really felt bad for him.  Don't really know how his numbers were this year, but he took a beating that game.

What I remember about Dylan McCaffrey was that he seemed to have a lot of enthusiasm. The way he would run onto the field looked like he was very excited to play. The helmet to helmet hit he took against Wisconsin was brutal.

The coach seemed like an awful guy who also didn't really gameplan or recruit well, so yeah not a shocker.

I doubt we'll ever really know what happened with Dylan but that remains a great mystery of the Harbaugh era.

It really looked like the McCaffrey's were poised to be the next big football family. Christian, a 4-Star recruit, All-American, top 8 NFL pick, on his way to being an NFL All-Pro, two more 4-Star recruits in both Dylan and Luke.
