What happens if we rebel and don't make them?

Besides I like Fran.  He's one of the few coaches in this league with balls bigger than his brain (and he's got a BIG brain it would seem) so he's willing to stand up to the officiating homerism that runs rampant in Wisconsin, Indiana & MSU.

You and all those people telling me to "have a nice day." What if I don't want to have a nice day? You can't tell me what to do! You're not even my real father!

Wow he's been suspended.  What a joke.  How about the fucking officials be suspended for their incomptence.  Like others here, I applaud him for not just accepting the utter bullshit the referees were displaying.  Why is is so bad to get mad these days?  Why can't a guy lose his cool when he's been wronged, as long as he's not harming anyone (I get that McCaffrey may have "bumped" the official, a no-no).

I know there are official types here and I understand it's a tough, tough job and things get missed.  I know, understand at least, that apparently the guys doing it are best at it.

I still don't think it's an excuse for the incompetence I see in some of the officiating today.

I'd be angry, but you don't go out onto the court and "shove" (bump, whatever you want to say) refs.  Refs, and their shortcomings, are part of the game.  You have to control your emotions.  You're still representing the university.

And by you, you're etc, of course I mean Fran.

That said, Iowa did get hosed.

I hate coaches who think they are bigger than the game and expect to be treated as if any response should be justified relative to a call. Fran's team did get hosed by inconsistent calls, but you can't touch an official. And you can't allow yourself to become so emotional that you lose sight of your responsibility to your team, which is what he did.

The crew that worked that game is one of the lesser ones in the league. The Big Ten has some of the best officials in the country. Most of them work multiple conferences. In fact, the guys who worked Sunday's game between Michigan and NU also work the ACC and Big 12.

Yeah, bumping an official is not going to get you any dinner invitations.  But I give the man kudos for hauling around some major balls and standing up.  Wisconsin, MSU and IU have reached Duke's home court status in terms of officiating.
