mallett...
Hello friends,
This is shocking, I am sure.
Best wishes all.

Not again... whatever, i've never been intoxicated in public.... neverrrrrrrrrrrr.
Fast forward to about 30 seconds if you're impatient.
It's sad that such talent is wasted on someone so immature.
God, I hope you're being sarcastic.
He's a college kid doing college things.
DUIs are a right of passage. I mean everyone does it, right, right? Then again, maybe not.
Except he wasn't charged with a DUI...
He was intoxicated outside a club and was arrested.
This is a month old. You realize that this is just him pleading in a case that is old, right? This isn't exactly news.
i think we can all agree that college kids get stupid drunk. but at the same point, not every college kid will make headlines on ESPN for getting a public intox. this kid just hasn't learned from anything in the past. regardless, he's not our player anymore so oh well..
I still think Mallett is a whiny Momma's boy, but I also think the charges were bullshit, and that some Arkansas cop is really, really full of himself right now because he "brought down a celebrity."
Is there really anyone here who hasn't been publically intoxicated at some point?
I will save my comtempt for Mallett for something a lot more amusing than a bogus arrest by an overzealous cop.
That just made my day, too funny.
I've never been "publicly intoxicated at some point." Can I still hang with you guys?
I actually agree with Tater on this.
My God......
I don't drink, granted I'm only 19, but still...I'll never drink
I used to say this too, then I discovered the joy that is a good car bomb
Sure you've heard it before, but I said the same thing when I was 19. Of course, I just quit drinking altogether about two weeks ago, so more power to you.
I'm sure none of us ever walked around drunk during college.
As Turbo Cool says - he isn't on our team any more. Nor does he play for a rival, so who cares?
No big deal not even news worthy most college students get drunk at some point in there college life, just not all of us get caught
As somebody who has been to college I can assure the rest of you that you don't get arrested for being drunk. You get arrested for being belligerent. Like how Mallett was belligerent with Lloyd. Face it all you ostensibly positive lovers of UM transfers, ("player X transferred but golly what a good guy he was and best wishes to him) this bastard would have been an embarrasment to our program. Fuck Mallett forever. Yes he had a cannon. So fucking what. Arkansas will not be shit with him at the helm. UM will surpass his deeds in 2009.
Totally, totally agree. I shouldn't give a shit since he doesn't play for Michigan anymore, but in the one semester he was on campus before I graduated, I'd heard so many "This guy is a complete and utter prick" stories specifically about Mallett from multiple sources that it's pretty hard to merely chalk it up to being a kid -- and that was before he even played at all. I shouldn't even need to bring up the stuff that went on during the '07 season, and his transfer was a circus.
Dude had "locker room cancer" written all over him. Good riddance. He and Boren are about the only two Michigan expatriates you'll ever hear me say that about.
How was his transfer a circus? He said he sat down and talked with RRod and decided he wouldn't fit into the new offensive scheme, requested to be let go, and RRod granted it. That's a pretty mild circus if you ask me.
You're kidding, right?
I distinctly remember transfer rumors starting immediately after he got to campus, subsiding, starting again in the middle of the season when Lloyd supposedly threw transfer papers in his face somewhere around the time where Manningham was yelling at him on the sidelines, subsiding again, starting again immediately after Lloyd retired and did not go away until he finally transferred. Not to mention the stories floating around when RR was pursuing Pryor.
Granted, these are just rumors, but as everyone on this board has seen for the past year and a half, where there's smoke, there's fire.
Circus.
If the events that occurred involved unsubstantiated rumors that weren't heard by many, I'd say "circus" is an overstatement. I visit this site (and others) every day and I never heard any transfer rumors when Manningham chewed out Mallett.
The transfer rumors popped up shortly after Mallett got here and people said he didn't like the cold. He never said anything public about it.
After Rodriguez came on board, Mallett announced he didn't want to stay. Whether that decision was made before or after the end of the season, I don't know. But if that's your definition of a "circus" then you've been to some pretty shitty circuses. There must have just been a guy in a tophat in a Gander Mountain pup tent juggling a couple billiard balls with a wind-up music box in the corner.
alcohol is just a crutch anyway
i'm kind of shy, so i use it to make myself better at talking to cops
