M v EMU basketball - anyone heading to the LCA?

Submitted by Beaublue on November 11th, 2022 at 8:31 AM

I will be heading down to the LCA tonight for the M v EMU basketball game.   Anyone else going?   Not sure why the late start (9pm). Probably has to do with TV.    Wanted to hit a downtown D restaurant for a nice pre-game meal but most of the walkable ones from LCA are booked.

I don't think this will be a pushover for M.   EMU has a real team.  Of course it starts with Bates.   Bates at 6-10 and fluid will be a tough matchup for us.  Probably too quick for TWill or Hunter to guard and too tall for Jett.   They also have a good guard and several transfers.

First real test for the Maize and Blue.

I'm headed downtown. Was surprised that there were so few good tickets left.  I thought I'd have a much easier time getting good seats.

I don't go in person very often unless I'm offered tickets. Pretty crazy how expensive it is to go to a game these days.

If you are looking for something casual in Midtown before the game, you could hit up Founders, Detroit Shipping Co. (4-5 different food options), or Bakersfield (tacos).  There are nicer options around there, but those are the ones that are probably all booked.

More casual options downtown - Frita Batido, Union Assembly - but I think parking is a little easier in Midtown.

This is off topic for this thread, but I cant create a new one.

Teske just got hired to the company I work for, surprising at the job he got hired for, same one as me just a different team. I might have to recruit him to the company bball tourny!

Ill be heading downtown for the game tonight! May have to go to Sweetwater Tavern for some wings or maybe hit up Union Assembly beforehand. Obviously after the game Sgt Pepperoni's is the place to be... especially on veterans day!
