A look back in order to look forward (The Big House lights)

Submitted by Zwaag on

I've been doing alot of soul searching the past 3 years. I was not a fan of the Rich Rod hire from the beginning, and it got me to thinking about the new lights. Bo Schembechler and Lloyd Carr didn't need to play under the lights to win big10 championships...just another gimmick in Rich Frauds arsenal.

because I as a student am excited we caught up to everyone else in the country with lights, and the lights arent held up by ugly poles either.  Maybe this can bring some spice to some rivalries....cant wait for the first Michigan-OSU night game personally.  And maybe that can get College Gameday up here every once in a while.  And hell now that RR has his recruits falling into place anything is possible

-On another note, when Dee Hart committed we got a big win over Illinois that week. So heres to hoping that Justice Hayes' does the same

-and also I dont know about any of you, but just thinking about seeing Frost, Hart, Crawford,Watkins/Lucien,Zettel, and any other big recruits, along with a more experienced team, on the field against ND at night next year  gives me the chills

A couple points of clarification:

The B10 has a rule against November night games, so unless they move The Game, it couldn't be at night (maybe 3:30 though).

Dee Hart committed before the MSU game, so I'm not hoping for the sam results.

Sammy Watkins committed to Clemson this week.

thanks for the correction on the Dee Hart commitment coming before the MSU game....and well from what I've heard throughout the expansion of the Big 10, they have talked about moving the game to earlier in the season.  I know this would take so much out of the game itself and I would hate to see it, but hey a night game in late November would include a 3:30 start if you think about it

I'm sure that in one of those 30 years you might have noticed that they had to rent lights anyway for many of the 3:30 games.

omg wait, I see where you're coming from now.  It's tradition to put up rentals!  Dog gamn you in-house electricity!
