Little music&highlights to set the mood

A day in the life of Mgoblog
I don't know if they're Michigan fans, but they are local and "Seven Nation Army" is like this generation's heir apparent to "We Will Rock You" in terms of stadium music.
So sick of Seven Nation Army. Would almost rather hear the dog groomers song at this point.

Ummm...just about anything. I don't know that I consider dubstep to be music, but I may prefer dubstep to this garbage. Can't comprehend how anyone can not hate this song after the first 20 seconds.
I didn't like the idea at first, but I heard that song after UTL. Forever will that song always play in my head when thinking about the celebration after that game.
Just like I can't listen to Sweet Caroline without getting chillbumps thinking about The Game 2011. Didn't play at the The Big House, but in my house whilst trying to catch my breath.
I disagree. That song was never cool. Never ever. Not even close.
It's fitting that the band is called Pop Evil. This must be what music will sound like in the dystopian future when we're ruled by evil aliens who hate music.
MGoBlog comment section: OMG worst song evar!!!
Youtube comment section: OMG awesome song!!!
Oh, the mob mentality.
Don't think it's mob mentality, but a selection bias. People who can sit through watching that video (thereby hearing the song) and even enjoy it will be the ones commenting on youtube.
The mgocommunity, on the other hand, is largely made up of intelligent people with discriminating tastes. (Not saying intelligence = good taste in music = must hate Pop Evil, but I'd assume a strong correlation.)
Sure, subjective taste is subjective taste (e.g., you have every right to believe that a subway reuben is better than a Zingerman's reuben), but I think there's something to be said for music (or any other art form) that involves talent, innovation, genuine emotion, sophistication, or whatever it is you value. I think a simple pop or rock song can be great if it involves these characteristics. If you like contrived music made by lazy talentless hacks who seem to be more about fashion, fame, and money than artistic expression, feel free to enjoy.
I love a cold Natty Light on a hot day--especially when I'm drinking for several hours or more--because it tastes like beer-flavored club soda. But I'm not gonna tell someone drinking a Bell's that "which beer is better" is a subjective argument.
I think Michigan should represent higher values, which is why I (like Brian and most folks on here) would prefer less Special K and more of the MBB. And as for my highlight/hype videos, my favorites have been the ones with solid music (Rilo Kiley, Ryan Lewis/Macklemore, Explosions in the Sky, etc.)
/ definite music snob, but not trying to be a jerk
I sort of like the song - at least if I hear it only once or twice a year. Listening to it again it didn't sound so bad...
... but the video itself is AMAZING! How can you watch that video and not get hyped?
You're all old men stuck in your ways. Free your mind and allow yourself to find the beauty and joy in life. That video rocks/is awsome/is fantastic. Go Blue.
