Late Afternoon Games Open Thread
With So. Miss polishing off a big win vs. Houston, we can look forward to this afternoon's late games:
Iowa St. at #11 KSU - FSN (currently 17-13 K-State at half. They could get a BCS spot if TCU is unable to move up)
UNLV at #18 TCU - Vs. (currently 21-3 in 2nd. See BCS potential)
#22 Texas at #17 Baylor - ABC (No, Baylor will not be in BCS)
#14 Georgia vs. #1 LSU - CBS
Hopefully this last weekend will deliver some more good games. Discuss and enjoy.

Woah. They caught one.
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:01 PM ^
Should be 21-0, it is 10-0, would you have ever guessed that an hour ago!? This makes Bama look bad.
December 3rd, 2011 at 4:58 PM ^
Go go Georgia
December 3rd, 2011 at 4:58 PM ^
I think LSU very well may lost this one.
December 3rd, 2011 at 4:59 PM ^
I actually wish Georgia was up 21-0 right now. What if Georgia and Okie St. both win big? I would LOVE to see a #3 ranked LSU team get left out of the BCS and open up a BCS game for Michigan. 7 total yards for LSU so far.
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:00 PM ^
Now were slow-simmering. Cooking would be all the completions that could have been.
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:00 PM ^
Sucks that if LSU loses they will still be in the championship game. We need a playoff system!
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:02 PM ^
Who knows, what would happen if LSY gets spanked by 4 TD's?
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:06 PM ^
reply only if you know the answer. but how can LSU be in title game if they lose? Doesn't GA get the autobid for being conf champ? and isn't there only a 2 team conf max for BCS? then how can Bama and LSU play in BCS if LSU loses?

December 3rd, 2011 at 5:01 PM ^
if they win and we are out no matter what else happens. TCU and Stanford are locks to take the final 2 bids.
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:04 PM ^
Based on what people are saying that doesn't seem to be the case, especially with a KSU loss.
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:06 PM ^
With all of the BCS scenario threads throughout the last week, you would think people would understand that if Jaw-Ja wins, we are out. Do people not want M in a BCS game?
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:01 PM ^
LSU has a great defense and so does Bama. Those 2 defenses are 2 of the best to have come around in a while. But they don't even have decent offense. And the Big 12 is in no way any better than the Big Ten in my opinion. ISU isn't very good but because they stick with teams that are ranked 11 in the nation that really aren't that good either people for some reason think the Big 12 is great.
I'm angry and I'm getting old and I don't care who knows it damnit!

Nope....if TCU gets into the top 16 they are in....and if Georgia gets in that takes away an at-large bid and as long as Stanford is in the top 4 they are in.
So basicly...LSU needs to win or nothing else that happens matters.
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:05 PM ^
Yes but LSU (or Bama depending on how you look at it) would take our at-large spot if they are still ranked #1/#2 since UGA would be the AQ from the SEC.
We need LSU to drop to #3 and out of the title game (and BCS altogether) if UGA wins.
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:06 PM ^
I think KSU losing is vital if those you listed were to happen.
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:03 PM ^
this Reid guy has killed the LSU secondary. If I'm not mistaken he has been out the last couple weeks and the LSU D looked a lot better without him in there. They might be better off with Mathieu at teh corner and Reid out of the game.
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:03 PM ^
Even if GA and KSU wins we may still have a chance if OU loses. I'm still hoping that Michigan can still get a BCS bowl game. I may have to start rooting for LSU.
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:04 PM ^
I don't want to root for LSU, but I fear you are correct.

10-0 Georgia, and LSU growing accustomed to shitty field position so far.
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:04 PM ^
Despite Georgia's best efforts they still have a 10-point lead against LSU. Jarret Lee is the savior of Michigan football for the day. it appears. When's he gonna get action?
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:05 PM ^
This is what you get when the BCS pretty much tells you that you're going to be playing in the championship game regardless of what happens in your last game.
(Tin foil hat time!) It wouldn't surprise me at all if LSU lost this game just so the SEC could get 3 teams into the BCS this year.
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:09 PM ^
Wow....The refs have no idea what holding is in the ISU-KSU..... Missed like five of them...
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:10 PM ^
watching the two big 12 games...I just cant understand how the computers love this conference so much. These are all average teams I think the middle of the big 10 would eat up.
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:14 PM ^
It is so strange that the computers love the Big 9 so much. Kinda BS if you ask me.
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:10 PM ^
the amout of CBS commercials is getting a little absurd
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:11 PM ^
Kansas St. gets the win. No help there.
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:12 PM ^
and Iowa St blows it....well I'm now resigned to the fact that it's probably the cap one or outback this year..well lets to beat an SEC team and end this season on a nice note.
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:12 PM ^
There goes one of our chances. I'm trying to find other ways if GA wins. A OU loss should put MIchigan in at 14? Though you never know!
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:13 PM ^
They could use a few certainly. On the other hand, the ultimate in efficient offense is one that three-and-outs all the time. New trend?
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:17 PM ^
It's an SEC West thing.
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:14 PM ^
This is crazy...Pretty much every game is not going our way right now.
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:16 PM ^
M is out. It's that simple.
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:17 PM ^
Not if Georgia wins big and knocks out LSU/Bama from the top 2
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:20 PM ^
That's the slant I am taking. LSU gets curb stomped makes bama not look so worthy.
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:20 PM ^
If UGA wins:
The at-large bids go to:
LSU, Bama, Stanford and TCU(?)
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:19 PM ^
Barefoot Center = Hillbilly Stereotype.
Why can't Georgia catch the damn ball.
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:19 PM ^
There's still a lot of football to be played in Atlanta people.
Geaux Purple!
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:20 PM ^
Michigan needs these punters!
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:21 PM ^
The LSU defense is playing better but I'm not sure if they can score enough points to win.
There's still a chance LSU can come back and win. There's a lot football left.
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:21 PM ^
LSU: 16 yards rushing, 0 yards passing, 22 yards in penalties, 0 first downs.
Surely there's a point where they can screw this up enough for voters to drop them?
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:22 PM ^
LSU is better than this. They are laying down to get a Third team in BSC game. Damn SEC!
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:27 PM ^
I will not bring myself to believe this. I can't see any player agreeing to lose a game.
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:30 PM ^
I've been drinking, I can believe anything! Touchdown LSU!!! shit that sounds dirty.
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:22 PM ^
Trivia question answer:
Mark Ingram and
Peyton Manning?
oh jk lol!
I love that Tennesee fans are still bitter about Woodson's heisman.
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:24 PM ^
Can LSU just keep the punt team on standby on the sidelines, helmets on and all?
December 3rd, 2011 at 5:28 PM ^
Zook was hired as a consultant for the O, his advise: Punt when they least expect it.
