I saw a lot of people were saying that Kenny Allen may have to come back as a walk-on/not have his scholarship renewed to get under the 85-man limit.

Is that still being predicted to happen?

It would be interesting.

I wonder what would be the eligability requirements with (possibly) being a graduate taking your 5th year and how many classes would be required.  I recall Matt Leinart (with a scholarship) supposedly took one class and had no problems.  I know if it were me in that situation I might give up the free class, pay it & play.  Maybe even look to mentor the student that my scholarship went to.  (That is unless I was going to grad school, in which case I would load myself up & have it paid for!)

Matt Leinart only had to take 1 class because he had not graduated yet and that one class satisfied the only remaining requirement for his graduation.  I believe that is the only exception.  Everyone must take a full class schedule in order to be eligible to play except if the only classes remaining for the achievement of a degree make up less than a full schedule.  I believe Leinart deliberately left only 1 class remaining to the achievement of his degree precisely in order to take advantage of this rule.  Had he graduated already, he would have had to enroll in grad school and take a full schedule.

I really enjoyed watching Houma, too. I think I got to see Shallman break a pretty good run against NW this year too, if I remember correctly. I am interested to see how Kingston Davis will develop. In Harbaugh's system I think he could develop into a top notch fullback. Kid has tree trunks for legs. GO BLUE!!!

Easy call.  A kicker who went 18-22 this year - and also was very good on kickoffs - could be the difference between making and missing the playoffs.
