Keep Your Heads Up, You're Michigan

Now before I begin, let me just say this is not a critique of any poster on here. I understand the frustration just as well as anyone else here and can certainly sympathize with the way people have vented. I guess this is just my personal way of venting so if you need to ignore or neg, go ahead, but hopefully this helps at least one UM fan other than me feel a little better.

I have watched the boards the past two days sink into a depressive state. Brian on TWIS listed the board titles, we won the Tears of Unfathomable Sadness.  There is a board post below trying to argue that we are becoming ND. But we’re not and we won’t ever be. We’re Michigan.

As my friends and I walked back up Hill St in a slightly depressed state after the Ioss to Iowa, an old guy driving by yelled the six words that this fan base needs to remember, “Keep your heads up, you’re Michigan”. I won’t pretend that problems aren’t there. There is a possibility that this coach won’t succeed at Michigan, that Brandon will choose to go in another direction. There is even the possibility that Brandon will keep RR and THAT will turn out to be the wrong decision. It doesn’t really matter.  I encourage everyone on this board to look up the Illinois 2007 ABC intro (if one can stomach the look of douche Mallett in a Michigan uniform).  “The past can be an anchor seeing you through hard times”. Now I can’t foresee the future, I can’t predict if and when we will get back to regularly competing for and winning Big Ten Titles, but what I can do is say that we’re still Michigan, we’re still the Leaders and Best, and I wouldn’t want to be a fan of any other University.

GO BLUE!

As pissed off as I have been the last couple days and how the pain in my stomach is at it's all time nauseum... You are right. We are Michigan. Maybe some things need to be changed... What's to say we don't come out next week and remind everybody that. I remember in 2007 we were supposed to get crushed by Minnesota but look what we came out and did. We got 4 games left to right this ship and until the clock hits 0:00 on the last game of the season I like every other fan need to remember those words. We're Michigan and we should stand behind whatever coaches and players we have for the good or bad.

some "pump it up" M football embeds.

Now is the time to unleash hell on the Illni.  Install the heavy packages, 2 tightends and the fullback on every play till they stop it. Eat the clock, keep the d off the field of play. When they do get out ther blitz on every f*#@down.     My god make it different, make this feeling of unendeing dread vanish from our thoughts.

However, Sat. was just unbearbable to watch.  Having vented like many others I'm moving on.  I can't imagine RR would be gone since that option would be worse from a recruiting and building standpoint than managing to take a just few of the remaining games.  I only want to think about best case for now.  Go Blue !!!

are rightly jealous of the fact that although we have great sports traditions, we don't need them, because Michigan is a world-class University that handles itself with dignity and class.

Also, kudos to Iowa fan.  I was generally impressed with their fans.

Last year after the OSU game I was walking up State st after the game and some OSU students were walking south against all of the pedestrian traffic of Michigan students.  I am not a student, but a UM grad.  The OSU students were talking trash, of course, as they walked by.  A UM student said to them "Just remember, you are still Ohio State and we are still MICHIGAN!!!!!"  I could not have said it better.  I must admit I have used the line since.  Keep the faith, we will prevail again.  GO BLUE!!!!

I'll stick with the team through thick and thin, it's a little thin right now.  Something has to be done with the D, as has been discussed in several threads, I'm not amongst the fire RR crowd, I might be part of the replace the DC crowd, that was a dismal defensive performance.

About 5 weeks ago,  many of us posted our season record predictions, mine was 8-5 with a bowl win. It looks like that might happen. It sucks to be losing, but we're pretty much on track to realize a lot of those predictions of 7-5 with a bowl win, thus 8-5.

We will beat Illinois and Purdue.  Chins up, Bretheran, if we can take the last 2 seasons, we can take this one.
