Great stuff. Go Blue Go Poole.

You can make a case that he's been their MVP in the playoffs ... and even dating back to the last month or two of the season. Curry hasn't been himself. Klay isn't the guy he used to be pre-injuries. Despite being an all-star starter, Wiggins is the 4th or 5th best player on the team probably. And Draymond has been outplayed by Kevon Looney this series.
Looney has definitely been a pleasant surprise. He's really stepped up to provide some defense and been carrying the load on the glass. Even a career best 21 points last night. The timing of his play has really elevated the Warrior's and helped to mitigate one of their biggest weaknesses in lack of height.
He’s been good, but let’s not get carried away. Curry averaging 26.8 a game in the playoffs to Poole’s 19.5, same as Klay.
Agree, I caught an interview with the Memphis radio or tv analyst before that series and he said that Memphis will be 100% focused on how to slow Curry, he almost made it sound like they didn't even game plan for the other guys offensively. When Curry was out at the end of the season, GS went .500 or maybe even below .500, which is what they are without him.
Yeah this is a bridge too far I think, it has to be Curry. Last night Curry carried them for long stretches when Dallas was hot. And closing out the second round, Kerr went away from Poole. He only played 24 minutes in the closeout game 6, and wasn't on the floor at the end. But he's been a spark plug again now against Dallas.
It's definitely still Curry, but Poole is really, really good and certainly the heir apparent.
It was Poole that led the run at the end of the third and beginning of the fourth to pull ahead of Dallas last night while Curry was on the bench.
Love that he's getting this attention and that he's becoming a household name.
The Poole Party chants are so good.
Go Blue!
I didn't understand his response to the line about Barkley wearing a Mavs jersey. Who is Bomar (Boman?)?
Boban. Enormous Center on the Mavs, whose jersey Chuck had on. They have a history where Boban clocked Poole and got kicked out of a game and was extremely apologetic, even sent him a big blanket with an apology letter after the whole ordeal
Ah, many thanks!
Boban Marjanović. He is one of the Mavs players. Big 7'4 guy but he's a kind spirit/gentle giant off the court and genuinely one of the most liked players in the League.
Yeah he's the guy on the State Farm commercial with the coasters. "Why do we have coasters if nobody gonna use them!"
Michigan's 'Tom Brady' of the NBA, book it
That comment could be taken many ways, but all of them are incorrect. We need to pump the brakes before we compare a guy getting his first real minute sin his 3rd season to arguably the greatest player in the history of team sports. And for the record, I LOVVEEEE me some Jordan Poole
Ah, just floor it
It was obviously a wild prediction but it's incorrect that he's getting his first real minutes right now. He was getting real minutes last year and doing well with them. He's their second best offensive player right now.
Good for Jordan that he has worked himself there. Poole parties are good. Hope he keeps it going.
There's just nothing like seeing a player who you believed in proving out. It would be foolish to assert that some of us saw him reaching such heights, or this quickly. But I can think of nothing in my decades as an M grad and fan that has put a smile on my face like Jordan Poole has. Sixty-eight percent for the series thus far? Come on!
Good for Jordan!
I mean, for the guy that essentially pushed college lifer John Beilein to the NBA in a fit of rage (for John Beilein, anyway), he has never strayed from that likable kid that everyone wants on his team. I bet he's really fun to play basketball with - run and gun on the playground all day long!
