Jordan Poole balling out at Seattle pro-am

Submitted by maizerayz on July 27th, 2021 at 5:18 PM

FYI Crawsover Seattle pro-am league has a sprinkling of players from the NBA, college, and highly ranked high school athletes, so not the best competition.

Man looks to be at another level from the Michigan days. Apparently he's taking in a lot of Steph Curries play style.

OT, but he looks totally different with short hair and a bit of facial hair.

I could barely recognize him at first, but I would recognize that smile anywhere.

Saw him balling out on Twitter. The confidence he has is unreal. I love it. I’m a Lebron fanboy (I know, I know), but it’s hard to hate on Golden State especially with Poole

Serious question.  As a huge lebron stan, does it bother you that he’s a whiny bitch?  Do you enjoy his flopping around and all about me behavior on the court?  I would love lebron the player if he was half the winner on the court as he was off it (school, charity work, etc.).  Just can not get behind his ridiculous flopping and all eyes on me (but I need more players) mentality.

I think the thing with Lebron and the overcooked narrative of his flopping is that he’s just so strong that he wouldn’t get as many calls because it didn’t look like he was fouled since he could finish through contact so easily. But as he gets older, fouls and slaps start to take a physical toll, and I think he exaggerates contact because otherwise he’s too strong to get calls. You see it with big men who honestly should flop more (Jokic for example gets half the calls of Trae despite being someone who should be garnering far more respect)

as for the rest of your comment, I’m not sure how you can claim someone who has won as much he has is not all about winning.

im not a lebron stan, I’m a diehard Knicks fan, I just think the narrative of flopping in the league is so overcooked by people who just want the game to be more physical and defensive oriented than it is.

Way to bring race into this. It's a fact he told Daryl Morey to shut the hell up and think about finances when Morey brought attention to the Hong Kong democracy rallies, it's a fact he's against vaccines, it's a fact he refused to sign a letter condemning the darfur genocide when all but 2 other teammates signed it.

Lebron has done a lot for people yes, but he cares only about issues that affect HIM. Period. That makes him normal. But normal people don't tell others to stfu when speaking about other suffering.

Plenty of other NBA players much more worthy of respect, other than Lebron the hypocrite who tweeted him in a picture next to Martin Luther King Jr's "An injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere" saying but actually doesn't give a shit about others different from him.

By the way, I ain't white, so dream up whatever color you want to label next.

Looks like he has matured a ton and that he's doing a lot of the things that Beilein was trying to develop, but I think they got out of sync toward the end.  He had just turned 20 the day before he was drafted by the Warriors and as we all know, he had that excess swag.

He probably ended up in the best possible situation for his skill set given the players and coaches there which doesn't always happen in the NBA.

Good luck, Jordan!

Jordan Poole in Juwan Howard's system would've likely been an All-American and probably a top 10 pick.

/But as a Warriors fan, I'm glad we got a lottery pick talent as a late 1st rounder.

//We're very excited about Poole's future. In the final month of the season (when every game mattered), Poole averaged 17 ppg / 2.6 rpg / 2.2 apg over 23.5 mpg.

We expect him to be our 6th man so odds are he'll average 30-32 mpg. Those in tune with the NBA think he'll challenge for 6th man of the year as a 3rd year player.

I have a feeling Poole will be dangled as the Warriors gear up for one last run before Curry/Green both really start to decline in the coming seasons. Plus who knows what Thompson will be after 2 years of recovering from major injuries.

I could see them packaging Poole, Wiseman, and their picks this year to nab a guy like Beal or Siakam.

But after a rather bad rookie year, and a somewhat disappointing first chunk of this year, it’s good to see him starting to bloom in San Francisco.

I think because Poole is getting paid next to nothing, the warriors are more likely to keep him for the 6th man/backup PG role.

Those trades you mentioned don’t work because teams (like the warriors) that are above the salary cap have to match salaries among the players traded. One way around it is trade exceptions which I don’t think the warriors have currently.

Siakam and Beal each make ~35M a year

Poole and Wiseman combined is around 12M. They would have to include Wiggins.

Poole is the poster child for why guys leave early. Low (28th) first round pick. A lock for making roster next year he will have earned $6million thru next year and set himself up for. Mega contract. Bet on himself and it’s paying off. Good for him.

With the benefit of hindsight, Poole made the right decision to leave. Proved just about all of us wrong.

He bet on himself and its paying off. Good for him.

Watching that highlight reel, the blue team reminds me of the Washington Generals. You kind of forget how ridiculously good NBA players are when they're up against each other, but turn down the competition just a little bit and guys like Poole just look phenomenal! Glad to see him doing so well!

I've always been a Poole fan although I admit he definitely had some maturing to do. He's looking confident and sharp. Thrilled to see he might be reaching his great potential and having fun!
