Some context for that line would be appreciated. Most of us don't follow recruiting with any sort of regularity. I myself don't read anything on the major recruiting sites beyond player profiles.

Seemed to work for the LAX player out of Texas. Not sure this guy needed to prove he had a committable offer and I don't think the Texas was intentionally playing games, but committing to a top program gets the attention of other top programs and can give them a sense of FOMO that could induce an offer.

Starling is ranked a hair outside the top 200 with an impressive offer list a full 11 months before his early signing day. i don’t really think you can compare that to a late riser in November.

Some 17-18 year old kids view the word commitment as just that- a word .....to be thrown around with no substance. I think we've seen this before, and we'll see it again.

Yeah this is the issue. I have no qualms with someone posting things that my be considered unpopular but if you’re going to clearly state stuff like “You’ll be seeing Jim on Sundays too”, then back it up or cite your source. Coincidently this fella has delivered neither and that has a very distinct term used on the internet.

There’s also a phrase for lashing out at someone who’s just passing along news; you may have heard it— it originated sometime around the 1860’s.
