Love that coaches comment re. the Khakis...its a nationally recognized phenomena.

I wonder whether any game will Officially, by the Office of Official Officiality, declare any game an Official Khaki Out. Only problem is the blue-haried fans probably don't wear khakis.

Khakis (Edit: with very large pleats), a button down and extremely white tennis shoes is exactly what the blue hairs would wear. Well, the ones who would come to the games anyway.

Lampkin, Dalton, or both?

I don't think I have ever seen a Michigan recruiting class ranked that low in my almost 30 years of following.
January 20th, 2015 at 8:04 AM ^
this is such a small class, and with the coaching change and limited time, we were never going to be top 20 regardless. We are not going to stay in the 90's though. I have full faith in the staff to make this class respectable in the end.

Serious question: Have you ever seen a Michigan recruiting class that's this small? There hasn't been one this tiny since I've been following recruiting, and I'm even including the fact that the final class will probably be 12-14 recruits strong.

3yd button hooks to Williams all day to keep the LBs honest.
FIIIILLLLLMMMMMMM!!!

Not news to you, I'm sure, but this is a temporary thing driven by (at least) three factors. First, it's a small class and many of the rankings are based on adding up the number of "stars" the class has and ranking on a gross (rather than average) basis. Second, we had a lot of attrition beginning when Hoke's status became first uncertain, then certain, right up until his successor was known. Third, Coach Harbaugh just got started on the recruiting trail last week as far as face-to-face goes and this is true for his assistants too.
Like so many here, I've no doubt that we'll be fine come NSD. Our overall rank may not be top ten due to the small class, but it will be a thoughtfully-recruited class of athletes that fit Harbaugh's mold.

We only have 6 current recruits. We won't end up at 93, but we probably won't crack top 25 either with such a small class.

If its only going to be 12 players it will be nearly impossible to even be top 40. I had projected the class in the 30s like a month ago but I had assumed the class would be 16 players. That was with Clark and a mix of 4 and 3 stars. But if its only 12 it won't be. Thats almost unheard of size.
If you are a star gazer you probably want to focus on average star rating rather than total rank; UM is actually pretty darn high even with the 6 players considering 1 is a 2 star kicker.
January 20th, 2015 at 8:47 AM ^
Its better to look at the AVG rating per player to get a better understanding of the talent coming in.
Rankings can be deceiving because of the amount of players in a class.

If nothing else, Harbaugh gets to commute to Cypress Falls while it is in the mid-50s and cloudy in Houston right now. It will be a decidedly better drive than the one I just experienced on the way to a meeting in Farmington Hills. As a review, are there specific players we might be looking at from Cypres Falls or is this a general call? If anyone knows, that might be helpful in this thread too.

Football rival of Cy-Fair High School, famous for giving Michigan that one shining season of Sam McGuffie.
Sam McGuffie, last seen as a hard-working member of the CFL's Winnipeg Blue Bombers' practice squad! LINK

I always liked Sam McGuffie... I hope he's well.

Also on the Blue Bombers' roster--Robert Marve!

I remember seeing McGuffie at the CCRB right before he transferred and being struck by the fact that he had a tremendously unironic mustache, a really hot girlfriend, and could benchpress way more than me. Everything seemed right.
January 20th, 2015 at 2:54 PM ^
Not bad for a white RB eh?
In case anyone forgot Jemelle Hill's racist outtake where she juxtaposed McGuffie's talent against the color of his skin.

Some "article" there. Can't believe what passes for journalism in some places.
(Not a dig at the OP, just the inanity of writing a 100 word article based on a tweet that is a joke.)

Awesome. This is exactly where we need to start making a presence.
Harbaugh grabbed Andrew Luck out of Texas. Let's hope he's able to get similar prospects out of that state in the coming years.
