Jason Avant's Father Dies
His father, Jerry Avant , died after he lost control of his car and ran into multiple trees.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jason when he was at UM and he was/is a great young man. I know that my dad is more than just a dad to me and I cant even imagine the pain and anger this young man is going thru. I only hope that as a strong church going man he is that now more than ever he relies on that faith to get thru. My prayers are with the Avant family and if his dad was anything like Jason,I hope they get some relief knowing he is in a better place with old family and friends.
That breaks my heart to hear. I worked with the team from 2003-2005 an he was the coolest, nicest guy with the biggest heart on the team. The type who would give you a big when he saw you out on campus instead of pretending he didn't know you *cough * (M)assaquoi. He's been through a lot though and I know he'll make it through this too. Hang in there, J
