MSU has done a lot of horrible moral things under Izzo, but it's strikingly clear that their program isn't paying players. Romeo Weems and Brian Bowen's recruitments would have both certainly ended there if they were. Very weird to include them on this list.
MSU isn’t absolutely paying players. You think they are willing to systematically cover up rapes, but won’t pay players some cash? Izzo has frequently got elite talents.

Miles Bridges put off a surefire year of making $2 million to come back a year to MSU. I think it’s fair to say he’s not like most five star recruits. Implying he got paid solely because of his ranking is very unfair to the kid. You complain about MSU fans in your post. How about we try not being like them?

Serious question: I don't live in Michigan and therefore don't access the media market often. What's the issue with Balas or other Rivals guys?
Balas understands sports pretty well-well above average for a "journalist". The problem is that he calls things as he sees them...and he is not always correct on his predictions-oh the horror!!! His straight-shooting pisses off many pathological partisans...so he gets mixed reviews.
He gets mixed reviews because he was posting baseless speculations about Peters after his freshman season. His rumor spreading made it so Peter's dad had to talk with Sam to put those rumors to bed.
He is also known for just copy and pasting "insider" information given to him.

I'm not saying it's a no brainer, but his mom was a fab five fan, and named him after Jalen Rose, so it's not really that surprising.
His lack of experience recruiting may still hurt him. The kid hasn’t even met with Juwan yet and somehow this shows that Juwan is a good recruiter?
This recruitment may tell us a lot about Juwan’s ability to close. The kid obviously likes the school and half the job is already done. All he has to do is sell himself as a coach. If the kid goes somewhere else, then it’s possible that his lack of experience may have contributed to it.
