Jadyn Davis this season: 98/125(78%), 1674 yards, 21 TD, 0 INT

To be fair, his backups also have great completion percentages, so everything is relative.

But that being said, pure stats wise his numbers are pretty much right at the top even compared to the other elite QB's in the nation.

Caleb (or at least his dad) has threatened to sit out if they don't like the team that's picking #1.

Chicago is holding both the #1 and #2 spots right now.

We are currently living in a version of the simulation where CJ Stroud/Nico Collins and JJ McCarthy/Marvin Harrison Jr. could be top tier tandems in years to come and it feels gross.

Never know with QBs and NIL.

My advice is to wait until after the season to worry about McCarthy or Edwards.

Everyone else seems pretty cut and dry (compared to the number of "on the fence" players from past years).

Barnhart and Jones are the two I'm looking at closely. Both have a COVID year to use. Barnhart is a starter, so I assume he returns, but is Jones coming back to battle Hinton?

I've got El-Hadi, Crippen, and Gentry inside...because I don't think Hinton or Jones is a LT (pushing Barnhart to RG).

Cam Goode came back and doesn't start, it's not unheard of. But a 2024-25 version of...

Barnhart | El-Hadi | Crippen | Gentry | Hinton

w/ Jones as the 6th, is still an All-B1G caliber OL.

Persi | Herring | Anderson | (true freshman) | T. Jones

with Link or Bounds as the 6th would be the 2nd unit, IMO.

The 10th pick in the 2023 draft made $23 million over 4 years.  So call it $6 million a year.  The top pick makes a little over $10 million / year for four years.  The 2025 draft appears lighter on QB's.  A financial argument could be made for JJ to wait.

I don't expect it to happen and I certainly am not getting my hopes up but the chances of him returning are not 0%.

The 10th pick of the 2023 draft signed a $20.9m deal over 4 years.  All $21m is guaranteed.  $12.25m of that was a guaranteed signing bonus, that he'll receive this year (they'll spread that cap hit over 4 years).

It's hard to imagine any scenario - other than season ending injury or precipitous draft stock drop - in which JJ would come back to UM.    Even though there's huge upside climbing from the 10-20 range to 1-5 range.

Drafts are all over the place. PFF has McCarthy at 5.

CBS has him going 10th

SI has 4 QBs in the first round none named McCarthy. Shadeur Sanders and Penix Jr. are the other QB's.

According to Walter's Football  JJ isn't going in the 1st two rounds let alone the top 10. He is behind Williams, Maye, Ewers, Penix jr, KJ Jefferson and Spencer Rattler.

Charlie Campbell in the same site has JJ in the late  2nd round  behind Rattler, Penix and Daniels of LSU

So right now it looks like McCarthy is just coming on the radar of some sites. while I don't expect he'll crack the top 2 - Caleb Williams is talked about as generational and Drake Maye has been the consensus #2 forever,  If he continues to play well JJ will be at the top of the next group.

For the more educated, is Sanders actually a good QB with skills that translate to the next level? Or is this just a factor of him being in a friendly offense and running it well and Colorado hype/media attention? From my limited watching him, he seems like a good college QB, but not one I see translating to the next level. But what the hell do I know?

JJ will be the 4th QB at best in the upcoming draft. The others more prolific and proven than JJ who plays in a run oriented offense. NFL is going to heavily scrutinize the BG game and whatever happens from here on out.

I don’t think it is anywhere near certain that he leaves. This is a loaded draft class for QBs. He could be #1 in ‘25 if he waits with the challenging schedule to use as a springboard.

Well, no. His numbers are good, but not spectacular. Michigan has also played weak OOC and JJ had a meltdown on national TV vs TCU and then again vs BG. Yes,he has that road win vs OSU.

But few of his performances match what the other guys have done.

Not sure why you assume he is gone if he is projected to be a late first because that is nothing more than a projection. Bad things can happen this year too.

The guy that Bama is getting, Julian Sayin, I've watched his highlights on the local news here, Jadyn looks way better to me. That kid is poised and accurate with a strong enough arm. Davis is a 5 star recruit, I  don't put much stock in 7 on 7 shorts BS.

If we don't end up getting Bryce, which I hope we do, we'll  be just fine with Jadyn.

Btw, I thought Denegal looked pretty good on Saturday.

I thought he looked serviceable. Still has a long delivery that will end up with a lot of INTs. But he's possibly QB #4, plenty of time to clean up the mechanics. He's already WAAAY ahead of where he was this time last year.

Tuttle is who I've been most impressed with this season (and Davis Warren last season).

I think Tuttle could get a medical to get one more year of eligibility. If that hasn't been determined, that could be a huge development.

If not, there's always the portal. I'm watching Hartman kill it for ND and thinking, that's always an option if JJ leaves.

An established QB who wants to play for a defending national champion that just produced a 1st round draft pick? 🤔 😏

Michael Pratt (Tulane), Jalon Daniels (Kansas) or if UM Admissions gets their head out of their ass...Arch Manning or Maalik Murphy at Texas (if Ewers comes back...or even if he doesn't, only one can start).

Actual football stats with elite production is great and all, but tell me how he does in shorts and a t-shirt with Trent Dilfer waiving a broom in his face?

If for some reason Underwood chooses to go somewhere else, it looks like Davis might do just fine at Michigan.  Not sure what will happen or who will be the QB next year but no matter what you have to credit Davis with the big recruiting push Michigan had in the spring.  He brought some beef with him.

Everyone talks as if Underwood lands here he is day one starter. One reason I don't think he will is no way this coaching staff gives him that guarantee and the way Davis takes care of the ball and completes a high percentage of passes his upside in this offense will be high IMO. I hope we get to see both of their bests but something tells me its unlikely.

WW - your perspective about Colorado and their recruiting is on the mark, IMO.

I enjoy watching Colorado play this season.  I don't have a horse in the race, but - Coach Prime will attract talent - and, it will be interesting to see three things.   First, how the talent Colorado signs will develop.  Second, how the Buffs coaching staff game plans, makes in-game adjustments, etc. - which is completely on the staff - coaches, S&C, etc.   And, third - how effectively the team executes the game plan they have in place.

None of the five games the Buffs have played this season really surprised me.   CSU played the Buffs tougher than I thought they would - and, USC's defense in the second half on Saturday - honestly, I don't know if that was "good" Colorado execution by their offense - weak defense by USC - or a combination of the two.    Regardless - it is interesting and entertaining.

It's impossible to predict how highly ranked Colorado's next recruiting class will be; however, I'd be surprised if it wasn't Top 20.   As a point of reference - Colorado's '23 signing class was ranked 29th by 247 and only had 21 commits in it - and, it looks like the "average talent level" of Colorado's '23 class was about 32nd.

Colt,  It will be interesting to see what happens with Deion.  I have no inside information but - my gut says - moving to the Big 12 will be very good for Colorado.  They'll be competitive in the Big 12 beginning - hmmm, next year.

The question is - which teams will go after Deion - to be their head coach - in the not so distant future - and, of those teams, which will Deion entertain an offer from.   How long will Saban stay at Bama?   Deion won't be the only "hot commodity" (IMO) to be the head coach of a program that has the pockets to bring him over - Dan Lanning (at Oregon) & Kalen DeBoer (at Washington) will get a lot of attention too.

Colorado's NIL game can't possibly be good enough to compete with the elite kids yet though. And that will keep them from an elite class. Not sure what they would have to get to make a top 20 class, but it would likely involve kids turning down more money and a better situation for promises at Colorado.

This may be on a bit of a tangent.   I've held the belief that in today's day and age with recruiting - there's a need to draw interest from prospects "early" in their high school career - since the nature of contact, recruiting, NIL, etc. - all help influence talented young players' interest levels.

The good news, IMO, is that Michigan's success over the past few seasons has moved them into the "Hey, I should take a look at them" - by prospects that are in the 8th, 9th, and 10th grades.   This puts Michigan on their radar far earlier than it was when Harbaugh arrived in Ann Arbor.

Michigan has already offered a QB in the '27 class - and, I'm confident they'll continue to draw interest and find players who reflect the program and university.   The cultural fit is more important than "half a star" in the ranking - and, the player development seems to be exceptional.

I think this confirms what most everyone already knew. There is only so much you can learn about a guy when he's playing 7v7 with no pads on.

When you put the pads on, and the game gets real, when there's actual stakes, and there's guys on the other side of the field looking to rip you in half, that's when you find out what kind of player you have.
