Jabrill on Dan Patrick Show
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHMS8T2LL94
Jabrill touches on lots of topics including
- His real height of 5'11"-6'0" "ish"
- Who he'd vote for in the Heisman
- Where he would have gone to school if not Michigan
- Thoughts on first impressions of Harbaugh, is he funny, and who would win a fight in the octagon between Harbaugh and Meyer.
- His position in the NFL and reasons for a potential return next year (however unlikely)
- Is he over the OSU loss and ready for FSU?
Sorry, for no embed... perhaps a more savvy poster or one of the Moms can help out with that.

Wow. DP was laying it on a little thick on the NFL thing.
Anyone else get nervous when Peppers said Harbaugh will do "whatever it takes to win"? Not the best choice of words!
December 8th, 2016 at 12:33 PM ^
I noticed that too and agree, poor choice of words. I'm sure our rivals will jump all over that comment but obviously nothing to see there. Just speaking to Harbaugh's competitive nature.

My thoughts exactly. I doubt we are the next Miami of the 80s and 90s, but would prefer the next 24 hours of the ESPN ticker to not say "Harbaugh will do whatever it takes to win, including bending the rules...says source"
December 8th, 2016 at 6:57 PM ^
....don't use ESPN as a barometer to formulate opinions.
December 8th, 2016 at 12:34 PM ^
As Michigan fans I'd say we know what he means with a comment like that. Harbaugh is a pure competitor and winning is the only outcome he wants for his program. He would consider anything less a dissapointment and strive to correct what ever issues the coaching or team needs to make sure "he does what ever it takes to win".
Not one bit concerned about it meaning anything other than that.

I think you are over analyzing it. Kids want to play for a competitive coach. Remember the days when Brady Hoke would clap after Devon Gardner threw interceptions? Those are gone boys.

Devin threw touchdowns. Devon threw interceptions.

Based on the username...I would guess yes they did

Great kid. Patrick's assumptions make me nervous though, kind of unprofessional.

...I think he could come back... I'm guessing in his mind there's a 45% chance he returns, and that scale may tip depending on the bowl game outcome. I know all about the injury thing, but somehow the "unfinished business" comment he made might just be enough to get him to return.
I think of the late great Steve Prefontaine who turned down $250,000 (nearly $1.5 million in today's dollars) because of the very same "unfinished business." You know he would like bragging rights about beating OSU at least once!
If Jabrill is reading this blog, stay one more year Mr. Peppers! You won't regret it.

Such a well-spoken guy. He's got the athleticism for sure, but I think what truly makes him a great player is his intelligence.
I think maybe the most impressive thing of the Harbaugh era is how well-spoken his players are. Ruduck, Speight, Peppers, Lewis, Wormley, Smith. When I listen to interviews with those guys, they're always so even-keeled, natural, and mature. Says something about Hoke's recruiting too, which we should all be thankful for.

Not a bad interview, but when Patrick asked him why he'd stay, he took a long pause to figure it out, then replied half-heartedly with the stock list of "stay in school" items. If there was any chance he'd stay, i.e. he wants his degree, he would have answered it immediately. Not a good sign.
December 8th, 2016 at 12:53 PM ^
The only chance we had was him feeling like he had unfinished business because of how the year ended. Getting a degree would never be what kept him here.
December 8th, 2016 at 1:37 PM ^
Isn't that a promise he made to his mom? That he would stay in school until he got his degree?
December 8th, 2016 at 2:01 PM ^
that doesn't sound right.
December 8th, 2016 at 12:57 PM ^
Or he honestly hasn't thought too much about it and is staying in the present and focusing on FSU. But that's me drinking koolaid
December 8th, 2016 at 1:00 PM ^
No, not a good sign. There could have been a lot of reasons for the pause—perhaps he understands that this could be a dangerous subject for him, and therefore wanted to be cautious—but regardless, it only makes sense for him to go. If my son were able to leave school early with an engineering or law job lined up, I'd tell him to do it. I don't know why my advice would be any different simply because his chosen career is football. That said, I'd sure be selfishly happy if he stayed!
December 8th, 2016 at 2:57 PM ^
What if the job didn't work out after 2 years? Then your son has no degree and no other employers want him
December 8th, 2016 at 12:57 PM ^
Jabrill is absolutely going to the NFL, but it was pretty lame of DP to badger him like that.
December 8th, 2016 at 1:51 PM ^
listen to DP often. He does that with every college underclassman. He just did the same if not worse with Dalvin Cook this week.
December 8th, 2016 at 1:11 PM ^
wow. I typically like DP but that was pretty ridiculous on his part to tell jabrill what he's doing like that.
December 8th, 2016 at 1:30 PM ^
He will go down in Michigan history as one of hte greats, but alof of our greats latley have not beat OSU
But ya he is gone, but i bet he thinks about that a lot. He got MSU.....
December 8th, 2016 at 1:35 PM ^
but that would absolutely shock me. i wonder if dp was pestering him with the nfl stuff to get an honest response instead of the canned "i got a lot to think about"...
December 8th, 2016 at 1:46 PM ^
Wow. Yes, Peppers is likely to go to the draft but I didn't like what Dan Patrick had to say about him going to the draft.
December 8th, 2016 at 1:49 PM ^
I didn't like the interview. He's still a college player. No need to be an asshole to him. Specifically, the draft stuff, forcing him to explain "moneybacker" and acting ignorant, and the Heisman stuff... wait, the whole interview was shit.
December 8th, 2016 at 2:07 PM ^
generally don't like radio interviews with college players. It is just not a good format for people who are not particularly media refined.
December 8th, 2016 at 1:51 PM ^
As much as I would love for him to return, frankly I don't see it happening. And I wouldn't blame him if he does decide to leave. Look at what happened to Christian McCaffrey.
December 8th, 2016 at 1:54 PM ^
Yeah I didn't like how Patrick kept picking at him. Boy if Jabrill came back though, I think that would be a very great day. Like, I'm going to eat lobster and drink Crown Cokes for awhile kind of day.
December 8th, 2016 at 2:21 PM ^
did not like the way dan patrick went about that interview. Should not be telling Jabrill what he is doing or badgering him when he gives you an answer. Fuck off Dan Patrick, J Pep dont need that.
December 8th, 2016 at 4:25 PM ^
...a fine young man. We have been blessed to see him play for the University of Michigan. Go Blue!
