It just hit me. Zavier Simpson and John Teske have played their last games as Wolverines.

God f***ing damn it.

Thank you for four incredible years to the winningest Wolverines of all-time.

Don't hold your breath. With finals right around the corner. there's no way they can reschedule the tournaments before the end of the academic year. After that, graduating seniors will have exhausted their eligibility and the NCAA would have to waive its rules requiring that student-athletes be enrolled full-time in a degree-granting program in order to participate in intercollegiate competition.

Putting that issue aside, rescheduling dozens of tournaments (men's and women's) comprising hundreds of games would be a logistical nightmare. The NCAA and the conferences would have to coordinate with dozens of host venues and participating teams, all of which have their own schedules and academic calendars. And their resources will already be stretched to the limit in figuring out how to resume all of the more essential activities and services that have been put on hold (academics and what not). I don't see it happening.

It sucks and has to be rather frustrating for these guys - not worth putting theirs and others health at risk, of course, but to look back down the road and know you never got that last shot at March Madness will sting. Appreciate these young men so much and hope whatever's next for them in life brings them as much joy as they've brought us fans these last few years.

And double whammy is they go out with their last game being a loss. Would have been nice if they could have gone out with a big win over a ranked team or rival as their last game.

Huzzah X and Big Sleep! Neutral court monsters forever.

Glad they already had the wins record in hand as well as games played for X.

I thought they had one last run in them and two tournaments to make it happen.

Is there any reason the NCAA tournament can't be delayed instead of cancelled? I don't think this is confirmed yet.

Also, would be kind of funny how Simpson went out...

Jumping the gun a bit. Guessing there will be every effort to still get the NCAA tourney played, just after a delay. If that happens, we have at least one more game with them. Personally, I put the NCAA tourney happening at 50/50.

I don't think there's any doubt that the march madness that's going on right now will be the cause for the March Madness Tournament to be cancelled.  That being said, with the decision already made to make the venues off limits to fans, many teams travel via private jet, the selection committee could schedule teams to play the regional games in the nearest geographical area, so those that don't could use their own busing....  What's the real reason to cancel it?

If you want the population to be mindful of how much social interaction, PLAY ON.... we'll all stay home and watch basketball on TV.

This would never happen but it would be cool to see the ncaa extend eligibility for seniors to next year because of the truncated season. Not very realistic though.

Let's not close the book just yet. I'm hearing a lot of talk of postponing the NCAA Tournament to May. There was a long discussion about it on Sportscenter earlier with several coaches.

I guess I'm confused.  I only heard the conference tournaments were canceled but have seen nothing about the NCAA tournament being canceled.  Can't the NCAA tournament still be played?

EDIT: Quite literally as soon as I hit save the news came out that the NCAA tournament was canceled.

Definitely sad.   Those guys had a great run for sure.  They are winners, through and through.

Of course in E. Lansing I’m guessing the Leprechaun will probably find a way to get Winston another year of eligibility.
