Iowa Safety Confirms What We All Know
The Iowa safety who gave up the early big play to Nico Collins seems just as shocked as the rest of us as to why they never tried to go deep again.
“We didn’t make many adjustments for them,” Stone said. “They had a couple of runs, and we adjusted real quick, just little things.
“Besides that, in the pass game, there were no adjustments. They really didn’t take any more shots after that, after the big play. We didn’t make no adjustments, really.”

Harbaugh was drunk and forgot to run more touchdown plays
October 6th, 2019 at 10:08 AM ^
Well I was at the game and pretty drunk and the deep shot is all I kept calling for...all game long.
October 6th, 2019 at 10:35 AM ^
That’s what she said.
October 6th, 2019 at 4:09 PM ^
Damn, keep it up bro. Next time maybe he'll hear you. Lolz.
Right there with ya.
October 7th, 2019 at 9:54 AM ^
I agree. I left for my daughter's soccer game right when they went up 10-0. Got back at the start of the half. Was shocked they didn't even attempt a down field pass the rest of the game. Had to ask some friends and they validated that there wasn't an attempt.
October 6th, 2019 at 9:15 AM ^
Whatever they were doing was clearly working so why change anything.
October 6th, 2019 at 9:18 AM ^
Yes the Point an Hour offense is breathtaking
October 6th, 2019 at 9:22 AM ^
Because they started getting pressure & Patterson made bad decisions.
October 6th, 2019 at 9:23 AM ^
Yeah. Putting our defense under max pressure by going three and out was brilliant.
October 6th, 2019 at 9:43 AM ^
All three of you replying, this OP and Navy guy's comment are about Iowa's defense, not Michigan's offense. I know it's early, but come on.
October 6th, 2019 at 9:46 AM ^
If you were half as smart as you think you are, you'd be 10 times smarter than you actually are:
“Besides that, in the pass game, there were no adjustments. They really didn’t take any more shots after that, after the big play. We didn’t make no adjustments, really.”
They "didn't make no adjustments" because the offense failed to make them need to. Is the link between or comments and the OP clear to you now?
October 6th, 2019 at 9:51 AM ^
That's actually a double negative. So he means they did make adjustments. Right?
October 6th, 2019 at 9:53 AM ^
Dipshit, you need to take a nap.
OP quotes an Iowa guy saying they didn't make any defensive adjustments. Navy Wolverine replies that Iowa didn't need to adjust because their defense was working.
You, in the middle of a hissy-fit, think Navy Wolverine is talking about Michigan's offense because you cant control your outrage and won't take two seconds to comprehend what you're reading.
October 6th, 2019 at 10:14 AM ^
OUTRAGE!!!!! OUTRAGE IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!
Oh, wait. Everything is about outrage today...
Carry on.

+1 for proper use of upvoting this gentleman’s ability to read and react properly.
October 6th, 2019 at 11:19 AM ^
FWIW I was referring to Iowa’s defense.
October 6th, 2019 at 11:09 AM ^
I guess we now know for sure that it was Locksley calling the plays at Bama.
October 6th, 2019 at 11:28 AM ^
A 12 year old Madden player could win 10+ games calling plays for Bama with the athletes they have.
October 6th, 2019 at 12:15 PM ^
Agreed. When we had the ball with 2:43 seconds left with a chance to drive the field and win the game, I said, “Fuck, this is NOT where you want to be, having your offense on the field to win the game.” Harbaugh must have heard me because he immediately dialed up a three and out punt to get or defense back out there. And it paid off. Wise move!
October 6th, 2019 at 2:38 PM ^
It did work. Can't argue with results.
Our new offensive scheme should be to punt on 1st down.
Cut out Gattis' salary and give it to the Barber that trims Don Brown's mustache.
October 6th, 2019 at 4:03 PM ^
Their offense was exhausted from all that TOP. Brilliant game plan.
October 6th, 2019 at 9:23 AM ^
There is no explanation and no excuse
October 6th, 2019 at 9:25 AM ^
We hate scoring duh
we could score but then you wouldn’t win a game 10-3 and who wants that?
certainly it’s more entertaining to watch the entire game with elevated blood pressure
October 6th, 2019 at 10:37 AM ^
At least you watched the whole game. I couldn’t because the TV no longer worked after being struck by a shoe.
October 6th, 2019 at 3:10 PM ^
You should rethink priorities in your life. 18-22 year olds playing a game should not cause this.
October 6th, 2019 at 10:58 AM ^
I’ve been a staunch anti-BPONE and anti-UNACCEPTABLE, but with the talent we have on offense, and …
- if after that first long-ball, the coaches purposefully shelved the long-ball opportunities, and
- if all the “fake to the boundary, run up the middle” plays were indeed designed fakes with no read element,
then that offensive coaching job was simply malpractice.
If it was a matter of Shea and not the plays, then it’s clear that he just cannot run this offense.
October 6th, 2019 at 1:27 PM ^
Your negativity is unacceptable. If you want to be known as one of the level headed posters on this board then you must remain optimistic no matter what evidence is presented to you by the team's performance.
October 6th, 2019 at 9:24 AM ^
Osu is going to completely embarrass M so bad, except this year M offense is worse so it’ll probably end 62-3
October 6th, 2019 at 9:25 AM ^
And people will still say that Harbaugh is the best we could possibly do.
October 6th, 2019 at 9:27 AM ^
Careful. Powerful men who run this site have banned for less.
October 6th, 2019 at 10:18 AM ^
That's no lie.

Dear JPC,
take your soft ass back to MLIVE.
Love,
Darker Blue
October 6th, 2019 at 9:35 AM ^
Harbaugh doesn't care that you're white knighting him. Since everyone loves Bo so much, how about we figure out what he might think?
Every day you either get better or you get worse. You never stay the same.
Harbaugh sure isn't getting better
I agree Bo!
October 6th, 2019 at 10:30 AM ^
Never loved Bo.
Could not adjust in a tight game, needed to out-roster the opposition before scholarship limit era.
When we first copied the wave from UW, he threatened to hold our games in an empty stadium, lamenting the days when marching bands were the main event & football was played as a novelty.
October 6th, 2019 at 10:56 AM ^
Who cares. You're likely the only one in the Michigan fanbase (if you are in it) who thinks that.
"Could not adjust in a tight game"? Completely wrong on that one. He did FAR better in that area than the last 3 coaches here. And probably better than Carr did. Your other "points" are laughable.
October 6th, 2019 at 12:52 PM ^
Eh Bo is overrated af, in an era when the P5 was more stratified than it is now. 0 championships. Trash bowl record. Good guy. Overrated. Fielding Yost is who helped pioneer football and was on the frontlines of innovation with the Big House etc. Michigan should harken back to him, not Bo.
October 6th, 2019 at 1:35 PM ^
Fritz Crisler and the mad magicians should get more respect as well. I'm sure Yost would be pissed that we've been such a conservative minded team for decades when he was anything but.
October 7th, 2019 at 1:57 AM ^
It is because those who remember Yost as coach have been dead for more than 50 years. I'm sure in 50 years, Bo will be remembered like Yost, since all of us who remembered Bo coached teams will be dead.
October 6th, 2019 at 9:32 AM ^
Because he is. Someday you’ll understand this.
I think.
October 6th, 2019 at 9:36 AM ^
You make me wish that this place had an ignore button.
October 6th, 2019 at 9:54 AM ^
You’d be talking into an echo chamber
October 6th, 2019 at 9:56 AM ^
Ouch. Big fucking deal.
October 6th, 2019 at 10:04 AM ^
And you make me wish the same thing
October 6th, 2019 at 10:41 AM ^
Ditto
October 6th, 2019 at 10:52 AM ^
SQ, your perspective, and perseverance are definitely needed and appreciated around here.
October 6th, 2019 at 9:46 AM ^
He is the best we can do. We are Notre Dame...except we have to play OSU every year. We would have earned the right to get our asses kicked in a national title game or playoff (just like ND Occasionally) does if we didn’t play OSU in 2006, 2016, 2018.
We don’t belong on the field with Bama, Clemson, UGA, or OSU right now. Oklahoma, even with their meh defense, would shred us, and LSU looks like they are finally going to use all that Bama level recruiting talent to field an elite product, by modernizing their offense under Cajun Hoke of all people.
October 6th, 2019 at 9:49 AM ^
Harbaugh is an elite turn around guy who got a LOT of mileage out of that. If this teams continues to look so poorly coached on the offensive side of the ball, he's going to run this program into the ground.
There are a lot of coaches who could put up a shitty win against Iowa at home and get blown out by Wisconsin. Some of them might even be capable of coaching up a decent QB.
October 6th, 2019 at 10:49 AM ^
How the fuck are you gonna say "We're Notre Dame" when they beat us last year? Are you gonna say that in a few weeks too?
