Iowa Safety Confirms What We All Know

Submitted by freelion on October 6th, 2019 at 9:10 AM

The Iowa safety who gave up the early big play to Nico Collins seems just as shocked as the rest of us as to why they never tried to go deep again.

“We didn’t make many adjustments for them,” Stone said. “They had a couple of runs, and we adjusted real quick, just little things.

“Besides that, in the pass game, there were no adjustments. They really didn’t take any more shots after that, after the big play. We didn’t make no adjustments, really.”

I agree.  I left for my daughter's soccer game right when they went up 10-0.  Got back at the start of the half.  Was shocked they didn't even attempt a down field pass the rest of the game.  Had to ask some friends and they validated that there wasn't an attempt.

If you were half as smart as you think you are, you'd be 10 times smarter than you actually are:

“Besides that, in the pass game, there were no adjustments. They really didn’t take any more shots after that, after the big play. We didn’t make no adjustments, really.”

They "didn't make no adjustments" because the offense failed to make them need to. Is the link between or comments and the OP clear to you now?

Dipshit, you need to take a nap.

OP quotes an Iowa guy saying they didn't make any defensive adjustments. Navy Wolverine replies that Iowa didn't need to adjust because their defense was working.

You, in the middle of a hissy-fit, think Navy Wolverine is talking about Michigan's offense because you cant control your outrage and won't take two seconds to comprehend what you're reading.

Agreed. When we had the ball with 2:43 seconds left with a chance to drive the field and win the game, I said, “Fuck, this is NOT where you want to be, having your offense on the field to win the game.”  Harbaugh must have heard me because he immediately dialed up a three and out punt to get or defense back out there. And it paid off. Wise move!

I’ve been a staunch anti-BPONE and anti-UNACCEPTABLE, but with the talent we have on offense, and …

- if after that first long-ball, the coaches purposefully shelved the long-ball opportunities, and

- if all the “fake to the boundary, run up the middle” plays were indeed designed fakes with no read element,

then that offensive coaching job was simply malpractice.

If it was a matter of Shea and not the plays, then it’s clear that he just cannot run this offense.

Osu is going to completely embarrass M so bad, except this year M offense is worse so it’ll probably end 62-3

Never loved Bo.

Could not adjust in a tight game, needed to out-roster the opposition before scholarship limit era.

When we first copied the wave from UW, he threatened to hold our games in an empty stadium, lamenting the days when marching bands were the main event & football was played as a novelty.

Who cares.  You're likely the only one in the Michigan fanbase (if you are in it) who thinks that.

"Could not adjust in a tight game"?  Completely wrong on that one.  He did FAR better in that area than the last 3 coaches here.  And probably better than Carr did.  Your other "points" are laughable.

He is the best we can do.  We are Notre Dame...except we have to play OSU every year.  We would have earned the right to get our asses kicked in a national title game or playoff (just like ND Occasionally) does if we didn’t play OSU in 2006, 2016, 2018.

We don’t belong on the field with Bama, Clemson, UGA, or OSU right now.  Oklahoma, even with their meh defense, would shred us, and LSU looks like they are finally going to use all that Bama level recruiting talent to field an elite product, by modernizing their offense under Cajun Hoke of all people.

Harbaugh is an elite turn around guy who got a LOT of mileage out of that. If this teams continues to look so poorly coached on the offensive side of the ball, he's going to run this program into the ground.

There are a lot of coaches who could put up a shitty win against Iowa at home and get blown out by Wisconsin. Some of them might even be capable of coaching up a decent QB.
