He was obviously knocked out... I'm not being snarky, but can you be knocked out and not experience a concussion??? If not, I would be absolutely shocked to see him next week in a hard hitting, Big Ten rivalry game. You see NFL players play the following week from time to time... But it's the exception, not the rule... And it's not usually guys that play RB and take a beating all game long. Michigan has 3 other capable backs and Drake Johnson might be close to returning. The Wolverines don't "need" Chris Evans next week and has his whole college, and potentially professional career ahead of him. I would play it safe and I imagine Jim & Co. will too.

This was about the point last year where Rudock made his leap. He came off the bye, played OK against Minny before getting knocked out and then took off. If Speight looks this good next week it will bode very well for the rest of the schedule.

I know Illinois caveats apply... But one of people's primary gripes about him was not hitting his receivers in stride and he basically did that all day long.

This may be beating a dead horse as I haven't pursued all the comments, but the fact that there was no targeting called on the Chris Evans obvious concussion play is pretty ridiculous. Overall good showing all around

is the only real weakness going forward.   The injuries to Newsome & maybe Bushell-Beatty, dont help what was already a question mark going into the season.

Looking at Bama's DL against A&M, they are on another level.    Should we have the fortune to meet in the post season, this would be my only worry.

You could be right but I don't think that Illini defense was actually all that bad when they wanted to be. Michigan just jumped up on them early. They are well coached on that side of the ball. They could have some good teams in years to come with this staff.

the second was horseshit.. JH may love Deveon, but the scheme is so limited by his slowness. Great to see Karan show some burst. JOK is running a crapset of plays - no chance to see his arm especially the seam routes - starting to believe JH is trying to avoid any division from JOK showing his arm vs Speight.

This game really lends credence to the idea that Speight's shoulder was screwing with his accuracy.  Bye week, two weeks to rest it, he comes out slinging it.  Coincidence?  Probably not.

The Jabrill-as-QB thing doesnt work when the entire team basically hones in on him as soon as he lines up. Illinois stopped it almost effortlessly and he took a couple hard hits--I'm worried about what'll happen against a better team.
