If you think being a UM fan is bad, go check out Black Shoe Diaries

Black Shoe Diaries is having a rough one. Just from the front page:

- PSU doesn't get to watch their basketball opener today (COVID)

- Their hockey team just lot to Wisconsin by 4 goals

- We got James Franklin photoshopped with a Bonnie Raitt wig for some reason

- And the kicker: a highlighted BOWL PROJECTION article for an 0-5 football team

Of course, it's 50/50 whether Harbaugh get outmaneuvered by Bonne Raitt Franklin on Saturday, but for now I'm still going to point and laugh. #WeAre all losing it.

The fact that we were already down 17 kinda hurts that argument. I want Don gone as much as the next guy, but his defense wasn't as much the problem, as we came into the game without 2 starters, and lost 2 more during the game. His defense put players in position to make plays and they just didn't. Letting a QB run through 3 tackles isn't Don Brown. Not high pointing the ball isn't Brown. Missing a sack in the backfield and having the QB scramble 16 yds for a 1st down isn't his fault. These players have to take some of the blame also.

Agree about the last drive in regulation - that looked to me for like guys missing some chances (and Vedral, to his credit, making some plays).  But one thing that really bugs me about Brown is that we seem to get burned on screen passes in the red zone every week.  We have gone to the well way too much with those blitz packages and everyone knows that counterpunch.  I knew as soon as they showed screen in the second OT that they were scoring.

I honestly don't know how much of a defense's struggles are scheme vs teaching the players proper technique as well as football IQ to understand how to execute the plays, and how much of what falls on the coordinator vs the position coaches vs the head coach. But it did seem like Cade added a spark to the whole time, both sides of the ball, as if they suddenly felt they were playing for something. And there was a moment where the whole team seemed to have an identity, until that last drive.

2020 man!  And you think that's bad?  How about Wisconsin?!  They have a team that looks much better than they expected.  They will barely get to see it play, and it will be ineligible for what passes for a post-season because of game cancellations.

Meh, I’d switch places with Wisky in a heartbeat (football-wise). I don’t feel sorry for them or their fans one bit. It’s nobody’s fault but their own that their entire team managed to get covid.

At least when they’re on the field they play competent football with a coherent strategy on both sides of the ball. We, on the other hand, are such a mess than we need 5 games to identify our best qb, jump offsides because the opposing qb claps his hands, and needed 3 OTs to beat fucking rutgers.

I’m all for joining in on the PSU schadenfreude train but given our own circumstances, this just feels wrong. In fact, everything that has happened in 2020 has felt wrong.

Let’s just make it to 2021 and circle back if we need to...

People here should be rejoicing... they still haven't appreciated Cade's performance, and what we now have going forward.  This is a kid a year into program and comes in and flawlessly throws four TDs on the road, with a new OL....

The Bowl projection article is somewhat funny --- all the projections are blank.

The NCAA rules for Bowl eligibility in 2020 are that there are no rules.  Everybody eligible!  So postseason dreams remain for PSU (and everybody else)!

On a tangent, it was announced yesterday that the 2020 New Mexico Bowl will be moving --- to be played in Frisco, Texas.  However, it will still be called the New Mexico Bowl.

Now, there's an opportunity there.  The DFW Metroplex is not the Land of Enchantment and it never will be.  So they really ought to rename the game for one year to the "2020 Flush this year down the Toilet Bowl" and invite, say, Penn State and Florida State.

Michigan is no better and PSU has been unlucky to post a 0-5. They are 2-3 aka Michigan type of team this year.

However, if Mcnamara can ball again Michigan is decidedly better. Remains to be seen.

I am not laughing. While Franklin is Janklin around these parts, this just shows coaches aren't stupid and it's a weird year.

This will be a very very close game.  I kinda expect PSU to win, simply based on their receivers being better than our conerbacks.  I feel like no Paye, Hutchinson, McGrone, and Hawkins.....no Ambry Thomas......a group of inexperienced freshmen and a sophomores = PSU passing attack looking good (even if they are not their normal selves, either).  I wouldn't be surprised if our defense lets us down, and they win.  Too much youth, inexperience, and "back ups" being counted on as stars, to expect anything more else.

The X-Factor will be the play of Cade and the offense.  If they can move the ball and score (without 3 of 5 starting Offensive Linemen.....that are all also young and inexperienced)....breaking PSU's resolve, then we pull out the win.  If they can't.....it'll be a long day.

I hope I'm wrong, and will be rooting for a Michigan win, in a blowout, but I doubt it.

With that said....stranger things have happened.  Lol.

Go Blue!  Beat PSU!

People should understand that luxuriating in schadenfreude about PSU's current situation just makes a Michigan loss to them that much more likely. It's science.

A lot of people think this is the year that a lot of big name coaches get fired but I don't see most ADs rocking the boat unless absolutely necessary.

I'd say his seat is about as hot as Harbaugh's in that it's mostly the fans and alumni who seem to be upset and nothing noteworthy from administration. If they go 0-fer and lose all their games, we'll that's another story.
