I'm Watching Live Football - You Can Too

Submitted by xtramelanin on August 29th, 2020 at 9:14 PM

Mates,

Actual, live, non-AI, non-replay football.  In a game that counts.  The players are real.  It is refreshing.  Austin Peay scored 16 seconds into the game on a very long run.  Back comes APB, who just benfitted frmo a cheap shot on the QB and another 15 yds., not at midfield.  The officials are wearing masks and using electronic whistles.

Anyway, happy Saturday night.  BBQ lit.  Possibly a beverage, too.

Crap Conference? What game are you watching? AP has 3 games on the schedule this year including this game and UCA is playing 9 games - 3 against FBS teams and 2 home-and-away games with 2 teams. They also have NDSU on the schedule - which is currently NDSU's only game scheduled so far this year. Only 15 of 126 FCS teams have games scheduled.

If I ever win the lottery, I'm gonna buy a whole bunch of land and build my own high school on it, and it'll be called 'ThePonyConquerer High School'.

EDIT:  PQ, i meant this in a light-hearted fashion.  please take it in that vein.

unexpected benefit to covid precautions;  no need for the coaches to cover their mouths while making play calls, nobody can see their mouth now.

I thought about this too and said to myself: those uber paranoid OC's don't have to look silly covering up their mouths with their play cards.

Disclaimer: comes from lens of a DC. I always laugh when I see OC's cover their mouth. Ain't nobody reading their lips to try and steal calls

I'm happy to see football on TV, but holy moly is this ever tough to watch.  I like FCS playoff football, but this is not the same.  So much bad play....

This fills me with elemental dread because as much as fun as it's going to watch my son play football, I have a feeling twelve year old tackle football is going to be multiple times more painful than this.

It's pretty bad. But it is what it is.

It's going to be tough for me to really pay attention this year with no B1G.

I'll watch, because WTF else am I going to do? But it'll just be on to be on.

I'm going to try and adopt Carolina since I've always liked them...maybe I'll be able to get into it some.

Totally believe that.  So far he loves tackle football and I'm already well acquainted with how thrilling watching my kid in a bad sporting event can be when i watch him wrestle  The youth team he's on seems like it is well coached, I just think its going to be interesting watching young kids run around playing ball, especially given how bad this game is(which i am still watching because football).

Why does the subject matter seem like spam or an infomercial "I'm making thousands as a single mom working from home" or "I'm losing weight while eating my favorite foods!"

don't know that i've seen a team at any level drop more passes than the crew for central ark receivers.  unbelievable.  they'd be running all day on monday if i was coaching.

This is some bad football.  Looks like they’ve only had 1 practice with pads on and are still learning the plays.  Lots of blockers not sure where to go and standing around thinking before reacting.

Can somebody explain to me the punting situation?  Are they without the normal punt unit due to covid and that’s why the Qb is punting?  I thought I heard the announcers say some people couldn’t make the trip in reference to the punting unit, but they also went on to talk about some other players missing?

Why wouldn't you just play for the FG there with no time left? At the very least you make Austin Peay use their 2 timeouts and give them very little time left if any if you center the ball and kick a FG. Instead AP has 2 timeouts and :34 left
