How does Dantonio do if he had our players & Rich Rod with state?
Just curios how people see Mark Dantonio doing with out current talent & RR with States current roster. Had a debate with a friend of mine the other night who is an MSU fan & I got the conversation popped back into my head by the recent Saban to Dantonio post.

I think the more relevant question would be how would DITKA do with our players?

*chomps bratwurst*
If Ditka plays Purdue 1 on 11?
DITKA 74, Purdue...3

Dantonio is too dumb to accept this job because of his irrational hate( if he was somehow miraculously offered it) and MSU is too dumb to offer RR (not that he would even give them the time of the day no matter ho bad things got at WVU).

Who cares? This is all dumb speculation. It is not relevant at all and should not be on the board.

on the board without clearing it with cali4uofm ??

since you clicked on the link & posted a solid 20 + words on it. The question is relevant considering the fact of how so many are pointing at UM's program & its coach with so much negativity while our in state competition and it coach basically gets a free pass from the press because of the wins against us the last 2 years. So then I rephrase it as from a talent level how does Dantonio & RR do with the other teams respective talent level. Its a discussion. Not a diary.

My apologies for sounding like a douche. My wife and sister-in-law are fighting and its putting me in a bad mood.

sister-in-law as in your brother's sister that your wife hates because she's always being compared to that woman when with your family, which is your fault because you control how your family thinks about people; or sister-in-law as in your wife's sister who never really gives respect to anybody and has tramautized your wife for years and will never grow up and has never met anything remotely resembling reason, and is somehow your responsibility, even though you have a sister who never acts that way?
Either way, hang in there guy.

You just hit so many nails on the heads...Kudos. Looks like the Misogopofamily has given you a "variety" of experiences : -)

Misopogon is not only a very high quality diarist but he is a prophet!! The latter is true for me. My wifes little sister respects no one and yeah everything you said, unfortunately.

This is kind of a ludicrous premise since they recruited different types of offensive skill players.
You'd basically end up with two coaches both in RR's 2008 situation and they would both get creamed.
In that scenario, I think RR and Magee would have given the ball to Nichol but once he was injured that slow offensive line they have up at State and dearth of tailbacks would equal 2008-level incompetence. RR would be hard on the recruiting trail with a lot more Drew Dileos in tow.
Meanwhile, Dantonio would probably have gotten a little more out of Michigan's defense, particularly the linebackers -- he has an outstanding track record in coaching LBs -- but he'd have about zero in offense with our puny ninjas recruited for a Spread Option system. Coner would be our starting quarterback. Our offense would suck DeBordean monkey turds as Dantonio sends Minor on one fruitless mission into a crushed OT after another until he is used up, at which point Kevin Grady is the change-of-pace back. Forget the Notre Dame win. We probably make that up by beating Illinois.
I think MSU-RR would have won the head-to-head game pretty handily. Ezeh and Mouton and Williams don't just stop being Ezeh and Mouton and Williams, so it's not like MSU's inability to second-level block means as much here as other MSU games. Sparty fans would anoint Caper as a deity in the ensuing sofa conflagration.
Glen Winston wouldn't have a scholarship. Justin Feagin would.

on his 3-9 if for any reason, he would have a senior quarterback. Hoyer having college experience would give him an edge that over the wet behind the ears efforts of Threet or Sheridan. This experience might have caused coach Rod to slow the 'option-read' train somewhat, since Hoyer had been used to pro-sets, and run some I formation or proset formation more than he did in reality. This was the number one "Fail" from last year, qb play, and this alone would probably be worth at least two wins probably guaranteed, maybe more. Ringer would be dependable, while Dell and White would provided good options at receiver; offensively, the weapons would be there.
Dantonio would go with Threet, but he would be no Hoyer. Furthermore, the offensive line would not be geared up for smashmouth football; ultimately, I think defenses would stack the line and daring Threet to win the game for them. I think Dantonio would fare worse with our players then he did with his own, players who had experience with his system.
Not that it means anything but there's my dollar store analysis.

with Mallet. And that along with the fact that Boren would have stayed, would mean we win at least 6 last year. Undoubtedly, we don't ever win more than 8 games with him as our HC.

How could he go with Mallett when Mallett transferred? As soon as Mustain left Arkansas, Mallett was as good as gone from here. The coaching change just gave him an excuse.

He'd go 7-5, then 9-4, then fall right off the map.
