I thought the whole stadium chanting ''Beat Ohio'' the last few years was cool. It really doesn't matter to me.

I suppose if we went back to calling them Ohio State we could break out an old saying and turn that into a chant: ''Oh how I hate...Ohio State''.

...to remember when the Ohio Stadium scoreboard looked like this.

They installed that scoreboard in '56; I'm not sure when they replaced it but it was still there in the late '60s.

I find the controversy quite bizarre. They used to be proud of the name of their state, now they think it's an insult. Go figure....

Idc what they are called. Some of the buckeye chatter about Harbaugh is hilarious. A sleeping giant has awoken. A mission from BO is underway. FUCK THE BUCKEYES

just because I feel such a historic rivalry deserves to be called what it is. Michigan-Ohio State. Ohio always seemed childish and I never got as emotionally charged when I saw Ohio as opposed to Ohio State. Michigan State on the other hand? Nah, fuck them they can stay Sparty or little brother. Fuck Sparty.

I'll call them Ohio State, as I always have. Jim Harbaugh is all about the blue collar mentality. We need to earn our respect back, and stop trying to act like we deserve it just because we are Michigan. It's time to get to work and stop being arrogant. No more "Ohio", no more "Little Brother", no more talk about win percentages and all-time wins. It's time to go out and put Michigan back on top, and the only way to do that is with hard work and some trophies that are from this millennium.

I always hated the "Ohio" thing. It was only a few notches less dumb than their insistence on emphasizing the article before their school's name. It was fun knowing it irritated them, but I'd rather get back to 1990s-type irritation.

could have been funny if Hoke had actually ever beaten them.  But for him to do that while constantly losing to them just made it rather pathetic.

Whatever Harbaugh decides, I'm on board. As much as I hate to say this, I went to OSU three times during my college career to participate in sports and had a great time.

Why the need to respectfully call them Ohio a State? They still like to call us TSUN or TTUN and many of them refuse to use the letter M when talking about us or at all during the week of The Game. Go to any Buckeye blog right now and you'll see they are sure Urban will continue to beat Harbaugh just like he beat Hoke. They're convinced of it.

You can do things like the Ohio label if you can actually "bring it" when the chips are down.  I think the Ohio monniker was a great symbol of the Hoke years - arrogance backed up with zero performance, grit or emotion.  When you can't deliver, you lose your job, even if you are a "really great guy" and love the institution you work for.

Let's go with "Ohio State" and try to beat them a few times.  Once we start beating them on the way to the college football playoffs, we can start with the different names.  Of course, Jim will likely be too distracted by trying to win to think of stupid names to call Ohio State.

On the surface just calling them ohio was "meh", but seeing how their fans reacted to it moved it up to "yay"

I say just call them "them". they don't need anything else.

"Jim, can you speak a little on the rivalry with ohio state?"

"... them? 312 days. That's what I can tell you... 312 days until we play them."

(312 just randomly picked)
