Hello Terrance Williams
January 1st, 2020 at 6:13 PM ^
Great! With Todd, BBall can complete.
January 1st, 2020 at 6:14 PM ^
We are a basketball school
January 1st, 2020 at 6:15 PM ^
There it is.
January 1st, 2020 at 6:15 PM ^
Michigan Basketball yet again lifting fans off the mat and continues to be the superior program to football at this school.
Fans should stop going to the Big House and should pack Crisler nightly. The team actually deserves it. Hopefully Juwan gets Warde to expand the student section around the court.
For all the worry warts, this class is shaping up beautifully. Juwan couldn’t have had a better start to his coaching career here!!
January 1st, 2020 at 6:19 PM ^
Basketball and softball is what has kept me sane the last decade as far as Michigan athletics is concerned.
January 1st, 2020 at 6:24 PM ^
Imagine if we never hired John Beilein because he'd never coached at this level and a basketball team that was 50/50 for the tournament each year "was what this program has always been."
Basketball is proof that if you take a calculated risk on a smart, talented coach, you can succeed even if you follow the rules more closely than your peers. Nobody would have pegged Beilein for our program's future leader in wins and 2 title game appearances before he was hired.
January 1st, 2020 at 6:29 PM ^
He coached at a West Virginia. He *did* coach at this level.
January 1st, 2020 at 6:30 PM ^
Amen.
January 1st, 2020 at 6:35 PM ^
Another thing fans savaged JB in his early years. He had two losing seasons in his first three seasons.
All this romanticizing of JB is pure bullshit. People ripped in him even after 2013.
The reimagining of history is something.
January 1st, 2020 at 6:47 PM ^
Forget his early years, people were calling for his head in 2017!!!!
After the awful OSU home game in 2017, Beilein only lost 18 times the rest of his career at Michigan. Over 3 years. That's insane
January 1st, 2020 at 7:13 PM ^
That's not really that insane. That is an average of 6 losses per season.
January 1st, 2020 at 7:36 PM ^
Those people include Brian Cook. But Bwian wouldn't address that and just pretended that he was on the Beilein bandwagon for life from the end of the 2017 season on.
January 1st, 2020 at 8:20 PM ^
The basketball program was in much worse shape than the football program, and yet Beilein tied for a big ten title in YEAR FIVE and played for a national title in YEAR SIX while having to deal with top programs in OSU and MSU.
January 1st, 2020 at 10:09 PM ^
2013? People on this board wanted him fired well after 2013.
January 2nd, 2020 at 7:13 AM ^
Baseball, Softball and Basketball all deserve performance bonus clauses added—with $$$ from the giveaway base Harbaugh contract.
January 1st, 2020 at 6:47 PM ^
Ive lost all faith and fandom for Football just CONSTANT disappointments...Basketball produces results football and JH just dissapoint
January 1st, 2020 at 7:37 PM ^
Shut the fuck up about football. Plenty of threads here for that. This isn't one of them.
January 1st, 2020 at 7:01 PM ^
So did he pass the recruiting test?
January 1st, 2020 at 7:33 PM ^
God, it's so annoying when people cant just comment on basketball without relating it back to football.
January 1st, 2020 at 8:17 PM ^
The basketball team plays for big ten and national titles.
But our expectations are too high for the football team.
January 1st, 2020 at 10:12 PM ^
If football had a playoff that included 19% of the teams as basketball does, instead of under 4%, we’d be in the playoff every year.
Alternatively, If basketball only had a 12-16 team tournament, taking a proportional number as football’s 4 teams, we would have missed many seasons, including potentially a year in which we made the finals.
Comparing success in the two sports simply from a “compete for national championships” aspect, is useless.
January 1st, 2020 at 6:15 PM ^
Yes!!! We need to turn our attention to a team that deserves it. Michigan basketball and Howard deserve it! Go Blue!!
January 1st, 2020 at 6:17 PM ^
Sounds like
he will play some 3 and 4 ! Great news to
try and keep Todd
January 1st, 2020 at 6:16 PM ^
This is sick, now if we can get josh Christopher we have the making of another fab 5
January 1st, 2020 at 6:17 PM ^
He seems to be stuck on the west coast but no worries. We have the best class in the big ten and it’s not even close. With the talent coming back next year we should be top 5 guaranteed. Go Blue!
January 1st, 2020 at 6:16 PM ^
Sellout every home game in 2020-2021!!
January 1st, 2020 at 6:17 PM ^
Congrats and welcome Terrance!
January 1st, 2020 at 6:22 PM ^
We are a shooting guard away from being dynamic.
January 1st, 2020 at 6:23 PM ^
Can he play QB?
January 1st, 2020 at 6:23 PM ^
January 1st, 2020 at 6:26 PM ^
Proof that this school can really compete with the best of the best when we've got momentum and the right people in place.
January 1st, 2020 at 6:32 PM ^
College basketball is radically different from college football.
January 1st, 2020 at 6:53 PM ^
You’re right. College basketball is way dirtier of a sport.
January 1st, 2020 at 7:14 PM ^
All it takes is one guy to transform a program. See Burke, Trey.
January 1st, 2020 at 6:27 PM ^
Harbaugh, are you watching???
January 1st, 2020 at 6:24 PM ^
Excellent! Welcome, young man! Basketball school!
January 1st, 2020 at 6:26 PM ^
We are a basketball school good job Juwan Howard
January 1st, 2020 at 6:30 PM ^
Great looking first class for Juwan. Nice to see he certainly won't be lacking in talent. Hopefully he builds his own great era of Michigan basketball out of this. Love the guy
January 1st, 2020 at 6:42 PM ^
January 1st, 2020 at 6:49 PM ^
But will he be allowed to take online classes?
January 1st, 2020 at 6:50 PM ^
Jim DeLany inviting Maryland and Rutgers into the conference has really helped open up inroads to East Coast recruiting.

Currently we are full on scholarships. Itll be intriguing to see how the rest plays out. If we sign another, there has to be attrition with Davis or another. If Todd ends up overseas, we can sign another and still keep Davis.
January 1st, 2020 at 7:08 PM ^
Jace needs a scholly so Davis will be leaving with his degree after this season
January 1st, 2020 at 7:23 PM ^
Im assuming Jace will be a walk on or grey shirt.
January 1st, 2020 at 7:25 PM ^
That's my guess as well. Small forward is getting log jammed as well.
January 1st, 2020 at 7:09 PM ^
Realistically we will lose one player to nba or transfer. Nba not looking like a sure thing for anyone but it’s still a long season. Regardless this class is gonna be sick
January 1st, 2020 at 7:21 PM ^
I don't see it to the NBA. More than likely it'll be Davis unless Todd doesnt come. Howard will want to keep Davis in that case.
January 1st, 2020 at 11:08 PM ^
Davis will leave after this year. That was the Beilein way. See Donnal and Horford.
January 2nd, 2020 at 1:26 AM ^
I bet Davis will be back. Juwan will want 3 true centers on the roster and he has already put a year if work into Austin. A 23-year-old big is not a bad thing to have in your back pocket.
January 2nd, 2020 at 1:26 PM ^
I’m in the small group of people that like Davis and want him on the team. I thought he would be useful in his 4th year and I think that’s played out this year, he’s had productive minutes. But Beilein seemed to rarely have guys stay for 5th years, especially bigs, and especially lower rated guys. So I think it’s been the plan for Davis to transfer after this year since he’s signed. Juwan can change that obviously but I think that was the original plan.
