Michigan Basketball yet again lifting fans off the mat and continues to be the superior program to football at this school.

Fans should stop going to the Big House and should pack Crisler nightly. The team actually deserves it. Hopefully Juwan gets Warde to expand the student section around the court.

For all the worry warts, this class is shaping up beautifully. Juwan couldn’t have had a better start to his coaching career here!!

Imagine if we never hired John Beilein because he'd never coached at this level and a basketball team that was 50/50 for the tournament each year "was what this program has always been."

Basketball is proof that if you take a calculated risk on a smart, talented coach, you can succeed even if you follow the rules more closely than your peers.  Nobody would have pegged Beilein for our program's future leader in wins and 2 title game appearances before he was hired.

If football had a playoff that included 19% of the teams as basketball does, instead of under 4%, we’d be in the playoff every year.

Alternatively, If basketball only had a 12-16 team tournament, taking a proportional number as football’s 4 teams, we would have missed many seasons, including potentially a year in which we made the finals.

Comparing success in the two sports  simply from a “compete for national championships” aspect, is useless.

Great looking first class for Juwan. Nice to see he certainly won't be lacking in talent. Hopefully he builds his own great era of Michigan basketball out of this. Love the guy

Jim DeLany inviting Maryland and Rutgers into the conference has really helped open up inroads to East Coast recruiting.

Currently we are full on scholarships. Itll be intriguing to see how the rest plays out. If we sign another, there has to be attrition with Davis or another. If Todd ends up overseas, we can sign another and still keep Davis.

I’m in the small group of people that like Davis and want him on the team. I thought he would be useful in his 4th year and I think that’s played out this year, he’s had productive minutes. But Beilein seemed to rarely have guys stay for 5th years, especially bigs, and especially lower rated guys. So I think it’s been the plan for Davis to transfer after this year since he’s signed. Juwan can change that obviously but I think that was the original plan.
