Hello Posts for the Eleven Draft Picks (subtitle: Let's Relive the Greatness of February 18, 2012)

Submitted by Maize.Blue Wagner on

Here are links to the hello posts for all eleven draft picks. Since it exists, I threw in Gareon Conley in for good measure. Jeremy Clark was the earliest on June 24, 2011, and Jabrill Peppers was the most recent on May 26, 2013. All Ryan Glasgow has is a board thread.

I mention February 18, 2012 because that day received its own muppets post. Michigan picked up six 4-stars commitments, including Butt, Lewis, and Charlton. The others were Wyatt Shallman, Kyle Bosch, and Chris Fox. The day ended with a basketball victory over then formidable OSU.

In draft order:

Jabrill Peppers

Taco Charlton

Chris Wormley

Jourdan Lewis

Delano Hill

Amara Darboh

Ben Gedeon

Ryan Glasgow

Jehu Chesson

Jake Butt

Jeremy Clark (there are 205 comments, mostly on whether or not Tim Sullivan was accurate or harsh with the post)

I forgot how unheralded Jeremy Clark was. Really happy for him to have defied the odds and doubters (and some really bad luck) and gotten himself into the league.

Great post. Hard to escape the fact that Hoke and company did a GREAT job scouting and recruiting defense. The predictions on a lot of these guys, like Wormley, Gedeon, or Darboh for example, wound up being spot on.

And Lewis committed when his only offers were Michigan... and Toledo. That's some good scouting.

I would like to think that Mattison is the guy who did the best job at this, since he's still on the staff. But what a great group of players.

I think it's hilarious that Peppers' areas of improvement included blitzing and tackling ability. I'd say he improved those fairly well.

I went back and re-read the Jeremy Clark one for the first time since it was first posted and it was as I remember - the first thing that happened was that a fair number of people immediately turned on Tim and questioned the tone of the post, even a "douchebag" or two thrown in for good measure.
