"To Hell With Greg Mattison" thread.

To hell with Greg Mattison.

As if I needed another reason to hate Ohio State.

When I worked for the football program in the 90s, I got to know him up personally. He was a fine coach, but he was the biggest asshole on the entire staff.  Arrogant, entitled, soulless, opportunistic egomaniac. When he arrived from Texas A&M (where he coached the "Wrecking crew") he acted as if he was the savior, then jumped to rival ND when Lou Holtz retired. He treated support staff and players who weren't stars like chattel, and treated ex-players with indifference when they would come back to visit.

(yes, I know most college coaches have some degree of egomania, but his was another level, even on a staff with some massive egos - e.g. Cam Cameron, Les Miles)

Hoke absolutely made the right call in hiring him. That was a home run hire given the sorry state our defense was in when he showed up. The amount of talent he recruited was pretty good too.

Mattison was the only reason our team had any semblance of respect after the 2011 season. At least the defense was pretty good from year to year.

I think watching a little bit of last week's PSU vs. OSU pregame was the first time I've seen the guy wearing Buckeye clothing.  I threw up a little bit in my mouth.

You have to know you're making poor life choices when you base your decisions on what this fuckstick thought was a good idea.

Let me start this off by saying that this isn't true and I have no reliable sources, but I heard that Greg Mattison is actually a mole and that he's been sharing the gameplan with Harbaugh via secret phone apps. Him leaving to OSU was a ploy the entire time, and we'll finally have revenge for 2016.

That guy can go rot in hell for all I care. Left twice for rivals.

His defenses weren’t anything special here ever. That’s why the old fart is a co DC at 96 years old.

Both times the guys who replaced him as DC were massive upgrades. Jim Herrmann had the #1 national championship defense and DJ Durkin put together 3 shutouts in a row.

That’s why he was demoted when Harbaugh arrived.

Oh, good grief.  Ignoring the turnaround that the D made when Mattison took over is as bad as ignoring the turnaround that the team made when Harbaugh took over.  RichRod declared that Vince Lombardi wouldn't have been able to have the defense play well.  The next year, Mattison had the defense playing well.

Greg Mattison is an ass clown. He is a traitorous wrinkley nutsack of a man. He's a bowlegged, mumbling, moron who sits down to pee.  He's an epic fuckstick for sure. A true deadshit taint warmer.

It will be nice to see if Michigan strings a couple victories together vs OSU, how will the OSU fan base feel about Mattison and Washington... If Michigan pulls this out, I would say something in press conference "yeah, we kind of knew how their defense would react to situations based on the tendencies of the defensive coaching staff"... OSU fans reaction would be priceless...

I still believe Mattison sabotaged the defense against OSU last season

Our pass rush was dominant all season long then all of a sudden vs OSU our dline couldnt get ANY pressure on Haskins. And last years OSU offensive line wasnt even good

Our dline failing to pressure Haskins was the #1 reason we got smoked

Lastlt he was the primary recruiter for Zach Harrison so  I'm sure he also nudged him to OSu
