Have we lost Latwan Anderson?
He is quoted in a Rivals article as saying that WVA, MSU, and Georgia will get officials... and he doesnt even mention UofM.....
http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=967405
I thought WVA and UofM were his top 2 like two days ago?
I'd check who he was talking to. But, I don't think we should get our hopes up.
Hard to lose what you never had.
That's what I was thinking.
Agreed. Never get invested in a kid from Glenville. I highly doubt we'll be landing any prospects from there as long as Tressel is as OSU. Pierre Woods, you are a distant memory...
Benny Friedman, even more so...
Latwan is transferring from Cleveland St. Edward HS to Cleveland Glenville HS. Their coach is the infamous Ted Ginn, Sr.(yes, that's the dad of former Buck and current Dolphin Ted Ginn, Jr). His best players have always gone to tOSU; he has also sent kids to Iowa, and schools outside of the Big Ten. He has NEVER sent a player to Michigan. I think it is safe to assume that Latwan won't be wearing Maize and Blue. Forget this kid.
"He has NEVER sent a player to Michigan"
Wrong. But this is ancient history.
but, he has sent a player to Michigan. Pierre Woods I believe?
I think he's gone. That's fine though, luckily we have some other good prospects that are high on our list. I would've liked to have him aboard though.
He may just be using those to get to schools he feels he hasn't seen enough of yet.
He's probably convinced that RR eats babies, drives his players to gang meetings, and orders players to not go to class.
Or maybe he likes the Bible on Dantonio's desk.
And what slingingsam said.
What other prospects?
He's amazing
A real ballhawk...with stunning eyes.
Correct on Pierre Woods. Sorry. The only player from Glenville to wear the Winged helmet.
hasn't he already visited us? in any event, everyone seems to think he's destined for WVU.
Yes and yes. At this point, the only school that's going to keep him from WVU is the one we really don't want to.
If he doesn't get it he will be WVU bound. Which doesn't make much sense.
I'm thinking a Jeremy Finich situation here.
Maybe the most annoying recruitment this decade?
I'd probably give that nod to Rojo. Finch's was just amusing. Once he decommitted, that was pretty much it. With Rojo, information seemed to change multiple times each day, with all sorts of conspiracy nonsense.
I was actually TREMENDOUSLY annoyed with both DeQuinta Jones and Pearlie Graves last year. As it came down the stretch, they were both such sideshows that I truly didn't care where they ended up, I just wanted them to sign somewhere and be done with it.
thy recruitment of Tyrelle of Pryor.
Eh, by signing day (and really even before) it was clear where he was going. There wasn't really any drama about where he was leaning, just his own manufactured drama about when he'd be announcing. With Rojo, it was like one minute he was a UM lock, then he was dropping Michigan completely, then Michigan's coaches showed up as Muskegon, but someone on Rivals or Scout leaked this info and his mom pulled him out of school because she found out Muskegon's coaches were throwing away mail for him from other schools because they wanted him to go to Michigan, and then he went to USC and everything got quiet because they took his mom on a shopping spree but wait Michigan's still in it and they're trying to get an inhome but it's snowing terribly and the dead period looms they might not get there and ARRRRRRRGH he's thrown the Michigan shirt on the ground in church and there is no god!
This is the most concise and incisive review of the RoJo situation I have ever read. Kudos.
I remember when Nick Perry, Ronald Johnson and Dionte Allen all seemed like Michigan locks. Bleh.
Eh, not so much on Perry. He never tipped his hand one way or another.
Rojo and Allen, on the other hand, were the quintessential "silent commits."
where Pete Carroll sealed the deal by playing Rick Dees on a Muskegon radio sation for two hours.
And the part where USC and Pete Carroll are "blessed by God": http://www.trojanwire.com/football/ronald-johnsons-grandmother-says-coa…
Isn't Finch the kid who went to Florida, but ended up in Indiana? I never heard why he left Florida.
I have been hearing he has issues with grades. I understand that he is a big recruit and they always get in, but the rumor going around was he scored a 13 on his ACT. That uhh is pretty low.
That's also why he doesn't have an offer from OSU. They don't want his ACT score to raise the team's average too high and raise red flags.
(I gave it a shot.)
I hear 13 is the new 30
we could get Latwan but I think he is going to be a problem off the field for four years. At Edwards talk is he got into a bunch of fights and did not decide to transfer but was more or less 'kicked' out. Don't take this for gospel just some stuff I had heard that makes me iffy on the kid. He is a hell of a talent. Glenville is playing Wayne (HS of Braxton Miller/Terry Talbott (sp))right next to my house and I am excited to watch that one.
But yes, many factors don't seem to play in our favor. If MSU gets this kid, it looks like Dantonio will own Ohio as well.
