Has anyone seen a coverage map for Saturday's ABC games?

Submitted by littlebrownjug on

Hello all:

I was wondering if anyone has seen a coverage map for ABC college football this weekend? In particular, I am trying to figure out if I will be able to watch either the Utah-Michigan game at 3:30 or the Michigan State-Cal game at 8 pm in the NYC area.

Thanks for any help you can offer,

LittleBrownJug

p.s. Is there anywere to listen to live radio coverage of the game on the net if I do not get the game in A2?

I think every Big Ten game carried by ABC will be on ESPN/ESPN2 if it isn't the ABC regional coverage in your area.  So as long as you have cable, you'll be able to watch them.  But I could be wrong, that has happened before...

I think the mirror thing is for all espn/abc b10 games. So if it is not your local ABC game it should be on espn or espn2

If you are desperate - mgoblue does let you listen to the michigan radio network (or whatever it is called) with Brandstander.

edit - awful announcing usually puts up a coverage map near the end of the week.

That's been the practice in past seasons, at least.

Here is a press release on the "reverse mirror" thing, which cites Michigan-Utah and USC-UVA as the example:

http://www.espnmediazone.com/press_releases/2008_07_jul/20080724_ABCESPNESPN2ESPNU2008CollegeFootballSched.htm

"For example, on August 30, ABC will televise Utah at Michigan and USC at Virginia at 3:30 p.m. ET.  ESPN2 will “reverse mirror” ABC’s coverage, televising Utah at Michigan in markets receiving USC at Virginia (on ABC) and USC at Virginia to the parts of the country receiving Utah at Michigan (on ABC)."

I'm also in Atlanta,

STATS is still a fun place to watch a game (as long as its not the rooftop).I think it will be better than The Line at 285 was, at least it ought to have more/better seating.

I may go there even though the game is on at home.

Are there a decent amount of Michigan fans/alums who go to STATS?  I moved at the tail end of football season last year and never made it to a game there.

I'm guessing it's nothing like Duffy's in Chicago

It has never been at STATS before.  Last year the alumni sports bar was The Line and some place called Pepperoni's in Alpharetta I think.  They've moved it to STATS this year, so I couldn't tell you how many will be there.  I do know that STATS isn't really a good place to bring kids, so families won't be going there.  It'll probably be more like the crowd at The Line which was primarily recent 20 something grads or newcomers to the area.

It is a good way to watch the game though, as down here its hard to find anyone who sympathizes or empathizes with a Michigan fan.  At least everyone at the bar feels your pain.

I think I remember reading in the press notes that the game will be carried on the Westwood One radio network, so you may be able to get it live in addition to via teh nets.
