Harbaugh's Broken Helmet Collection

Submitted by Bergs on November 30th, 2023 at 8:55 PM

In a recent interview with Brad Galli, Harbaugh and Galli toured Harbaugh's office. During the tour, Harbaugh showed off a collection of broken helmets gifted to him by current and former players. The most recent addition is from Michael Barrett following this year's Maryland game. In the midst of all the national negativity surrounding Harbaugh & UM, it's cool to see a local story displaying Harbaugh's passion for the game. Dude is a rare breed!

detroit freep:  Harbaugh doesn't give a shit about player safety.

"This is a loss of institutional control according to two highly respected 971 fat asses."

I love this!!

When I played back in high school I broke one of the welds on my face mask and had to switch it out in the middle of a game. My coach saved it until the end of the year banquet and gave it to me as an award. I still have it in my basement. That's Football....

I broke my facemask in high school playing Detroit Country Day. Just split it right down the middle and almost scared up my beautifully youthful face. Damn violent sport

You get the feeling that if the financial dynamics changed, and salaries in CFB went back to what they were like in the 70s and 80s, almost all these current coaches would go to the NFL or find another line of work. I'm not sure Harbaugh would. Money to him seems about competition (am I making more than the guys I beat) rather than a self evident goal for him.

I happened across the 2021 B1G championship game on TV last night...

Every time I saw Harbaugh, I wanted to teleport.

"Coach, I'm from the future. Just please trust me...do NOT hire a guy named Connor Stalions"

Mike Barrett brought in to be a Viper in Don Browns defense could have ran, could have said this screwed me over, could have had so many other takes then the one he did. Where he stayed, he endured, he worked and HE and his teammates became CHAMPIONS multiple times. Rare group of men we have been able to watch and cheer for and Mike Barrett is right up there! Go Reach your goals Mike win it all!
