--as Keith Jackson might have said.
What great run blocking! Huge holes.
Notice the screens, the counters, the draws. What acceleration, top-end speed, and power!
Oh, my.
We have seen so many great ones in the past. When again?

For perspective: Tyrone Wheatley is a big guy.
January 20th, 2018 at 12:01 AM ^
Wheatley didn’t create my first happy UM moments, but he did create some of the best. He also was stand-up guy for his family despite some high hurdles that few overcome. I like to think Michigan college scholarship helped with all that. All too rare an outcome in our sordid system in which college football is the minor leagues for the NFL.

A true Michigan Man. Another thing of note, OP has made many threads lately. Almost every thread related to the Nassar case is from him
January 20th, 2018 at 6:36 AM ^
Not sure why you would bring up scum like Larry Nassar on a Ty Wheatley thread...
January 20th, 2018 at 7:02 AM ^
Nassar is that you?
January 20th, 2018 at 12:20 AM ^
If Ty were a high school back coming out now he would be a 6 star.
January 20th, 2018 at 12:43 AM ^
"a 5-star, but faster"
January 20th, 2018 at 1:35 AM ^
Can you imagine Ty Wheatley running the ball for 2018 Michigan? The guy was lethal. Talk about improving the offense. Happy birthday and continued success Ty.

I will never forget that Rose Bowl performance .... WOOOOO HOOOO ! Thank you Mr Wheatley :)
January 20th, 2018 at 5:52 AM ^
He's my ultimate humblebrag guy. We (Saline) beat them ( Dearborn Heights Robichaud) my Junior and Senior Year. He was insanely great but luckily for us the rest of his team was out of shape and ours was pretty damn good.
He will always be my Favorite UM running back, he could do it all.

" Hey, get off the track!" lives on in the memories of all Hornets who went to school in the Age of Crabtree.
January 20th, 2018 at 1:30 PM ^
The whole staff was made up of real stand up guys. Coach Crabtree was our version of Bo.

I was at that Rose Bowl. T-Wheat was (IS) a BEAST. We sure miss those days!!

My personal ALL time favorite Michigan RB.
January 20th, 2018 at 7:30 AM ^
Ty Wheat was something special in a michigan jersey, just loved to watch him pull away from tacklers once he broke free of LOS. Oh,and BTW, did anyone notice the holes he had to run through...just sayin.
January 20th, 2018 at 8:22 AM ^
As fast as Denard (their HS track times were virtually identical) yet 30 pounds bigger. Not a bad combination
January 20th, 2018 at 9:29 AM ^
was as good as a RB as we've had at M.
Wish he was still on staff...I wonder what really happened there.
January 20th, 2018 at 10:21 AM ^
That maybe he decided he didnt want to be on the road 24/7 recruiting and spend time with his wife and two other kids that aren't T.J. He also seems to have walked into a pretty good gig in Jacksonville considering he was handed Leonard Fournette and now is a game away from a Super Bowl.

Nothing nefarious.
But you are probably correct in inferring that there was some friction. Two former BMOCs, but with very, very different styles.
Pretty sure nothing major lingering now ... just not meant to be.

He dared to disagree with Harbaugh on running back shit & made it known, that's what happened.
January 20th, 2018 at 12:36 PM ^
Happy Birthday Tyrone!
January 20th, 2018 at 5:15 PM ^
He was the best break away running back we have ever had
January 20th, 2018 at 5:52 PM ^
Butch W, Jon Vaughn and the great Tony Boles would certainly be in the discussion on that one.
But Wheats is my all-time favorite too, so I'll side with you there!
Lloyd always said: Tyrone was the most heavily recruited player in the history of MI high school football..

For my 12th birthday, my dad took me to the Michigan-Iowa game in 1992. So, I got to see in person Wheatley’s first 200-yard game, to include an 82-yard TD run. He instantly became my 6th-grade hero.
