I am going to go out on a limb and say that "Glen Rice" regardless of generation might be one of those names that gets a free pass around here, even if Glen Rice Jr. himself went to Georgia Tech.

I believe he spent most of his time in the D-League last year at Rio Grande and as I recall, he put up some decent numbers, so it is nice to see him get off to a good start this year. Hopefully, it leads to some more substantial time with the Wizards.

Very happy for the young man and hope he can translate it to the regular season when there will be some semblance of defense played..  Kind of reminds me of recruiting battles-we do very well in February but not so well from September thru November.

The Wizards just got Paul Pierce, so its going to be tough for this kid to get a lot of minutes for them real soon, especially with young Otto Porter still in Washington.   His best shot would come with another team.

Which could say something about summer league, Porter, or both.

But contracts matter in the salary capped land of the NBA, and the Wizards have $4.4 mil committed to Otto Porter this year, and will likely pick up his $4.6 million option for the following season (they have to decide in October right after training camp). Glen Rice Jr. costs about 1/5 of that this year, and will be a free agent next year. They have a lot more invested on Porter, and it makes sense to give him first crack at the minutes behind Pierce.
