Gholston Headway
According to Josh Helmholdt at the Freep, "Michigan is making headway with ... Gholston." He goes on to say that UM still trails MSU. Gholston is quoted as saying he is "feeling" UM more than in the past. Gholston likes the idea of playing hybrid LB/DE thing freep article
Here's hoping we win the all important in-state recruiting battle.
Big Will 2.0 wasn't feeling UM because he was buying into the negative recruiting being force fed to him. Once he actually saw practice and talked to the coaches he realized he was being lied to by others who have an invested interest in having him go to MSU. Just a theory...
Gholston will be a spartan. No question.
I hope like hell that you're wrong. As does everyone else. But it's kind of like hoping against hope.

Seems to me like he knows what he wants right now and just likes the attention, which is normal. I would be 100% shocked if he is not a spartan next February.
Most recruits don't drag out the recruiting process because they like the attention. They drag it out because they don't want to make a rash decision.
If they make an early decision and change their mind later, then they either a) go to a school they don't want to (McGuffie?) or they b) change their minds and get lambasted by fans.
If they wait until late in the process to make a decision, then they face comments like this from fans.
It's a lose-lose situation.
They're 17-year-olds. Let them decide how they want to. Like I've said before, they don't owe anyone an early decision just because WE started paying attention to recruiting.
I agree with you 100%, Magnus.
Gholston Headway is a great name. We must get this young man.

Thankfully he is in M's Top 5.
typing the title. The article was less than informative, but Gholston Headway caught my attention.

Heh, my thoughts exactly.
But he doesn't seem to be "in it for the attention" so to speak. Usually, those kids seem to say a lot of...odd things, it seems.
